Hunter very carefully tried to keep his own feelings on the issue aside. Still, it was hard to figure what he saw in the female he'd taken up with. To go from Mika...to that? Hunter had a bit of a time understanding the boy. He chalked it up to wayward hormones, and desperation. Possibly. Or perhaps he could be that stupid.
"Little angel, it has nothing to do with you, and everything to do with the fact that he has no idea what he lost. If he did, I don't think he'd have taken up with the woman he has. She's certainly not your calibur. But he's unlikely to find someone who is. You're not very replaceable. And he's likely to be trying to fill a very large void now." He reached his hand out, resting it on her back, between her wings.
He moved up, throwing his caution and shyness to the winds that blew around them. He hated seeing her doubt herself. He gathered her back into his arms, as long as there seemed no hesitation or resistance, cradling her. "Stop doubting yourself, now. None of this speaks to any flaw or lack for you.
