No answer comes, but the swish of grass in the breeze. It stands easily as high as her waist. The eyes till watch her. It feels like something might be stalking her, herding her toward the house.

She shut her door, locking it. Some sort of ward goes up around the home once more. The little fox makes a purring sound in answer, licking her hand again. Kaya smiled slightly at Mika. "I've had an interesting week. Definitely a little tiring." Her hand lifted to scrub over her face, and she gave a soft laugh.

She walked into the kitchen. It was spacious, well decorated and very country cottage kitchen. Fragrant herbs are drying, some are potted and in the window. The copper pots warm the room.

She put on a copper teakettle, the teaballs and mugs already set out on her counter. She looked over her shoulder at Mika, standing on her toes and reaching up to the shelf of tea. "Any specific flavor or effect you want with your tea, chica?" She follows Mika's preferences, and picks the teas accordingly.

The tea is carefully measured out, loose, into the tea balls. It's all ready able to be smelled. She set a bottle of yellowish fluid that looked like a very light syrup beside the mugs. The tea ball is dropped into each mug. The water boiled, and it joins the tea ball in the mug.

"All right. We'll let that steep. This is the living room. Painting the rooms was both fun and hell. I found out that the smell of the paint makes me sick. First bout of morning sickness. It sucked." She said wryly.

Something inside Homura is loathe to touch the books she isn't familiar with. Some are dark, possibly having various curses or protections over them. Many of the books appear very old, bound in various materials. With the nature of a few of them, she isn't sure she wants to know precisely. The thought is chilling.

The house appears old, innocuous and worn. It hasn't been very well taken care of over time. The grass has become overgrown, and looks a bit dry. Something tingles at Noonie's senses. Eyes on her. Many pairs.

She lets herself be pulled into him for a hug, sliding her own arms around him to hold on. Face turned into his neck, the little goddess trembles like she'd come apart. She's still crying, but doing so silently. The tears soak his neck, and his collar.

She whispers very softly in his head. "I keep thinking of everything the suit said, and it was so true. The suit was right, and it makes me someone who has been exactly my mother's daughter. It makes me cruel, and someone who strung you along. Someone that hurts even the ones they supposedly love." Her voice is colored in disgust with herself and dismay.

"You shouldn't love me. I'm toxic. Everything I touch, I break. Maybe it would be better if you hated me."

Her eyes locked with his, and she appears to force herself to do something. She speaks softly in his head, in a whisper. "I can't help feeling guilty. It's the first time I've ever used that ability knowingly to hurt someone. And I ended up using it against one of the people I love most."

Once more she mimes something coming from her throat, then reaches out gently and covers his ears. Then she covers his heart, and mimes it breaking in her hands, as well. There was no way for her to mime the apology that lingered in her eyes.

The door swung open, Kaya greeting her guest. Once more, she doesn't speak out loud, but instead, speaks in Mika's head. "Hey there, chica. Come on in." Vulpix, a little fox, is wagging her tails. She seems happy to see Mika. She is also very protective of Kaya. She comes to Mika, sniffing her hand and licking it. She is glad to see that her mistress has company. "Getcha some tea? Would you like to see the house?"

The eyes that looked back at him were dusky blue, very little green in them. She is most certainly crying. She patted her throat, made a gesture of something coming from her mouth, then shook her head. She then pointed at him, patted the area over her heart, then mimed something breaking in her hands.

The empath knew he was there. She could feel him. But she didn't lift her head from where it rested on her arms. Her dark hair was freed to lift around her in the breeze, and it created a shielding effect around her face. Which was a relief to the girl. It started to rain.

Kaya perched on a rock, watching the crashing of the waves. For the first time in quite some time, the sky looked ready to be angry and pour on their heads. Kaya's own eyes were vaguely sad. She doesn't seem worried about being rained on. No thunder rumbles and no lightning flashes. It just appears to be grey and gloomy.

He smiled slightly at her admission, touching his forehead briefly to hers for a moment. "I am glad you enjoy my company the way that I do yours, sweet angel." He told her simply. "I, too, love my visits with you. You're a bit of warmth in a cold place." He lifted his forehead from hers, kissing where he'd rested just moments before.

"This location is one of my favorite places to come. It is a dream's reflection of, well, a dream. Built of and from one of my own dreams. It came from a memory of mine that I held as a boy. I do not remember more than what it looked like." Memory faded for the dead.

His hand had returned to it's circles. "Yes, sweet angel I always know when you need me. I don't always know why, but I am always aware of when you require me. I'd be a poor knight if I was not. A knight is always aware of his Queen's needs." The fact that she seemed so surprised that he still watched over her struck him.

"I will never willingly stop. I would either need be destroyed, or you would have to ask me to cease. I will not stop of my own accord. No matter the consequences.

As for what I do when you don't see me? Half of the time, I am still with you as a guardian angel. The other half of the time, I am finding information, and keeping myself well educated on the world, it's history and other subjects."
He told her. He seemed to segue away from those consequences he spoke of.

Hunter relaxed with the idea of Miyako. "Good. The demon is bound to the physical limitations that you are. I was worried that she could simply continue without you. Such a thing is dangerous, indeed." He watched her play with her hair, his mouth curved slightly in a bemused smile.

He kissed her forehead. "Tell me what you'd have of me for a day, little angel. I'm here to keep you company, to see you. And yes, to watch over you. I'm sure you are curious about many things. Ask your questions, if you like. I will answer to the best of my ability, but reserve the right to decline. I will not lie to you. Depend on that." He told her, his hand drawing circles over her back.

His hand filtered through her hair. He found it best not to discuss the boy further. He never wanted her to feel the need to defend him. "It will come in time, or it won't. Choices will be made." Was all he said on the subject.

He nods his head, in deep thought about the entity she'd named Miyako. "If something happens to you, does Miyako die, as well?" He asked quietly. It may have seemed odd for him to ask this, but it's apparent he has his reasons for doing so.

He continued moving his fingers through her hair. "Lady Mnemosyne, Goddess of Memory. He likely knows nothing of the price he paid. But considering the price he did pay, and the price he could have, someone was watching his back while he was down there. The boy was playing with things he should not have been." Hunter shook his head.

"Call to the Devil, and he will come. Offer your life to Death, and he will take it."

Hunter looked down at her, his brow furrowed slightly. "You King needs to learn his limits. And he needs to respect your own. He must learn that he need not save you from every bump. Sometimes, you can only be a companion along the road. Carrying a loved one through every obstacle may only end in pain and loss. He underestimates you." Hunter says this with no judgement in his voice. It is statement. To him, of fact.

"Your Miyako. She is demon? The demon that lives in your blood?" Her wondering after what happened to Shinji in the Underworld made his face fall to thought. "It is likely that Mnemosyne exacted a price from him to release him." He told her softly.
