If you want to know, take a look at the sorts of characters there are. Look especially at other admins characters. Most others do not have teachers. Look at what they can teach. Tracking is also one of Ely's specialties. Ely was marked as a specific NPC type that can be a teacher, easily. We already have a shape shifter/nature/tracking sort of NPC. We need other types.

This teacher doesn't need to be made. I've already got Elyana to cover the classes that he can. That's one of the main reasons she was created. If you want to have him do something else, that's cool.

Stop pushing this subject. People are trying to save this site, not start over. Your suggestion wasn't helpful to the topic at hand. We know your vote, we get it. Now please stop belaboring the point. It's hitting irritating levels. If you don't want to help save the site as is, then move on.

A wry smile curved his mouth at her words. "Lost, my angel, is an understatement. Have you been playing your sad pieces again, or did you find something to inspire the brighter sounds your violin can make?" They stopped at a red light, his green eyes moving to her for her answer. He casually picked up one of her more delicate hands, and kissed the palm before placing it back in her lap, and settling in to drive once again.

As Shinji stepped forward into the clearing, a bit of some sort of magick shimmered for his mage's eyes, before it faded again. It would almost make someone wonder if it had even been there, if it weren't for the threads of the eldritch energies that tickled at all of his senses.

I occasionally use spoiler tags. Typically, I shorten my sig up, by not putting my stats in it. People want to know your stats, go to the profile tucked away in Approved characters. There is also an option of turning off signatures once you're super tired of seeing them. I've done this on most profiles.

O'raion Forest / Re: A Dark Dragon and A Dark Fog
« on: February 11, 2013, 01:49:31 pm »
The fog embraced him, as a beloved guardian or parent might. He felt, for that moment, as if he were home. As if he'd been marked indelibly by that heavy blanket of entropic energy. It moved just slightly, obscuring the dark dragon's eyes from seeing through it. Keeping him closed off from the brighter world around him, the living world. His beloved sister's words didn't reach his ears. Instead, the fog took him under until he floated inside it. As if caught and captured by a morphine dream, he seemed weightless and shiftless in air.

Mitsuko outside of the fog doesn't see the figure any longer, and even if he could answer her, she wouldn't hear it. There's only that deathly silence. The fog, showing that it has a sentience of it's own, coiled and then proceeded to lash out at the creature of light. She was inherently it's enemy, and they would not wait for her presence to harm it first.

((I am so sorry about losing track of this. My baby brain is just not up to the task, some days, of keeping up with the rest of me. Yeesh. My apologies, again.))

The fog was entropic and consuming. It pulsated around the dark dragon's hands, around his ankles. It entwined about them, almost as if it would give a tug and take him deeper. Whispers, hushed voices in that Fog grew louder, before an eerie and violently abrupt silence fell. Deep inside him, the darkness that was so inherent a part of him pulsated and grew. It isn't to say gained in size or in mass. It deepened, drew sharper edges and more dangerous possibilities to it. As if Killik had begun to hone a weapon.

She seemed to find that immensely humorous, as she stood chuckling to herself over the statement. "You do not belong here, and yet you do. Searching for what was lost in a place full of those unfound. You may capture what you seek, or it may slip through your fingers. Like sand, like time, elusive things. Some things were never meant to be free. And you'll not understand what I am or am not." She told him enigmatically.

Penny for your thoughts / Re: A Race Index
« on: February 10, 2013, 01:29:06 am »
Typically, if your race is something else, we prefer it to be stated in your profile. And from there, what you do and do not do with your race is the call of the admins. If you as a player think that something fishy is going on in your scene with Joe Werewolf, you would PM an admin, and they would investigate, putting that scene on hold until it has been properly sussed out. However, there does not need to be an index of such things, simply because, this is stuff you need not know about other's characters. Just like people don't need to know everything that's special and cool about your dude. Just us admins. NPCs may even be of different races, and unless you have cause to know about that race, (generally speaking, you won't) that's the sort of stuff you shouldn't know.  Mystery is part of the fun.

Excellent. I'll enjoy seeing more of your ideas come to light and fruition. Another creative mind is a wonderful thing to have. And those with stories to tell, or ideas to share are welcome. I'm always up for spinning out further stories and making things happen.

A woman, dressed very staid and librarian-ish, steps from the rubble. Her hands are folded in front of her, and her steps are measured, dainty and well placed. They disturb none of the rubble that she crosses through. "There are some here. Just no one you'd look for. Why are you here, stranger?" Said that very prim voice, one eyebrow raised in an imperious fashion. Something isn't quite human about this woman.

I like this character. Some clarification for powers; I am willing to negotiate on this. Swapping of powers will be voluntary. It will take a full five rounds of physical contact to absorb a total of one third of their energy. You will then have the power for five rounds. A round equals two posts. If engaged in combat, it will be halved, both the time required and the time you have it.

This swapping may occur without the consent of the other individual. Double all the requirements, even in combat. You must be pointed with the powers you are taking from them, you must know that they have this power (through a previous scene between you, through watching them use it, etc.), and you will lose access to your own powers while you use theirs. They cannot use their powers, but those with high enough intelligence will get a chance to realize they may use your power. (Hence: swapping)

Those with stats that more than double his energy and his intelligence, (ex. a character with an energy stat of 200, and an intelligence of 200) will be almost impossible for him to swap with against their will. They may allow it, but if they have not given their consent, he chances depleting himself trying. Is everything agreeable, so far?

Now I can't see a picture at all. This has my okay, from the looks of it. It will be played by any and all admins, but only admins, unless we give a player direct permission to do so. Should that happen, the player will have strict guidelines and a set goal to accomplish before it goes away. A note in total: *this enemy will never accidentally or purposefully kill anyone, aside from it's target, perhaps. It will retreat before such a thing occurs. It will harm anyone in it's path to Magnus, however.* As a few can attest, I am not above giving players duties and things to accomplish for me, if they volunteer. Sometimes, that's fun. :D

Either way, I do want you to understand something else, Magnus. By bringing him here, and turning him over to us, we may take the idea behind him, take the things you've told us of him, and give other goals/perceptions/surprises, in order to keep even you guessing. This site is full of those sorts of things happening. We each have taken certain ideas others have, and spun them. It happens, and it leads to fun. Because the one that created the idea even has the ability to be intrigued and taken off guard. We will attempt to stick to the spirit of the ideal you've created, though.
