Title: Band Aids For the Broken [Kaya and Mika, closed, Kaya's House]
Post by: Kaya Mitsume on September 20, 2012, 08:59:15 pm
Kaya had already moved Mika into the spare bedroom. The girl's night planned by Anihe that had held a bit of possibility no longer looked so attractive. Too much had happened of late. For both of them.

So Kaya stood in her kitchen, a blender in front of her, crushed ice in a rather large pitcher beside it. She seemed to be hand mixing margaritas. They were better that way. She ground some of the rind into it, the sweet and sour already there, the tequila. Lime juice, triple sec. The grinding of the blender can be heard throughout the house. It is a siren call to the other female in her room.

Mika walked in from the other room, a half smile spread across her lips at the sight in front of her.  She walked over to Kaya catching the aromatics of the ground rind.  She made her way next to Kaya leaning softly against the counter.  "That smells really good."  She can honestly say this is the first time since she got back she was drawn to any form of food or beverage.  She needed this, she knew it, and Kaya knew it.  She was inexplicably appreciative to have Kaya to lean on.

She pressed that wonderful button, her hand on the lid, as she glanced at Mika, smiling. "That is the best sound in the world, isn't it? Staying in with margaritas and silly, stupid girl flicks is likely the best thing for both of us. Being surrounded by giggling, teenaged shenanigans doesn't seem appealing to me, so I know it's unlikely to for you. You want yours blended or on the rocks?" Kaya asked, leaning her head against Mika for just a moment. If Mika had any doubts about the state of pregnancy or not, the extra splash of tequila likely capped it for her.

"It could quite likely be the most beautiful sound.  I think I'll start with a blended one, maybe an on the rocks later."  While eyeing the drinks Mika caught the extra tequila that made its way into the drink.  Her wing wrapped itself around Kaya softly offering the same extension of comfort Kaya was offering her.  "I think this evening is the best plan for us.  There's not much about being surrounded by several people talking about things like boys and giggling that I think I could handle."  There was an air about how she said boys that Kaya was likely to catch, not that many others would.  "Margarita's and silly girly movies seems like the perfect medication for tonight.  Have an idea for the first movie we should watch?"  She smiled softly at Kaya, an actual smile for the first time in days.

Kaya's mouth twisted. "Yeah. Boys. Gossip. The sorts of things talked about by girls that know little to nothing of real life." Her voice was vaguely disgusted, her eyes rolling. "I don't particularly want to gossip, considering my life is plenty exciting, as is." The past months had been interesting, indeed.

"I vote 10 Things I Hate About You first. It's one of my favorite silly girl movies. Then, maybe...Mean Girls." Kaya grinned, nudging Mika. She poured out the blended margaritas into the glasses for them, the rims already salted. "I've got chocolate galore. How would you like it? Melted, bars, cookies? I plan to indulge. Who needs to worry over their figure?" She laughed softly.

Mika's face echoed Kaya's feelings about gossip.  It certainly wasn't something she had no desire to deal with.  "I will agree with you there.  There is nothing that could make me say I want more excitement in my life.  She shook her head lightly.

She nodded at the movie suggestion.  "I think both of those sound like a great plan.  Both are great silly girl movies."  She laughed lightly at the nudge thinking of  Mean girls.  She tilted her head at the mention of chocolate.  "Hmmmm, I like chocolate in all forms.  Melted and cookies both sound fantastic.  I certainly don't need to watch my figure.  Lets do this right."  She smiled warmly at Kaya.
