Title: Simple Things, Like Suffering [8/17, closed]
Post by: Kaya Mitsume on August 21, 2012, 08:51:46 pm
The little goddess walked the mountains. A wolf walked abreast of her. A female, growing heavy with pups, seemed to be standing guard in her way. They walk companionably in silence.

Miles was in his costume, swinging around the mountains. He hadn't seen Kaya since she left him in his room. He was laughing, having a good time. Kaya had never seen this side to him before, so carefree. He spotted the little goddess and backflipped into landing in front of her.

She heard him laughing, and definitely recognized it for his. When he landed in front of her, he didn't startle either her or her lupine companion. She'd needed a hug for a little bit now, and immediately approached Miles, arms going around him silently.

"What's wrong?" He asked, closing the hug. He wanted to see her for a while. He missed her. And the dream. Wait, he couldn't tell her.

He can feel the misery ricocheting through the little goddess, as she buries her face in his chest. "Ele ainda não acredita que você e eu não fiz nada, mas beijar e lutar ao redor. Ele me acusou de brincar com ele. Duas vezes. Eu disse a ele para não dizer que uma terceira vez." She said, barely audible, though his ears can catch it.

"Ele ainda não acredita em mim. Ele só deixou o assunto, porque estávamos andando em círculos. Eu machuquei. Ele não confia em mim." It was a distinct ache that had sat in the vicinity of her heart for the past day and half. Her throat was tight, her stomach knotted and tense. Nearly every muscle in her body had tightened painfully, as well. The little goddess is a wreck, inwardly.

Miles had let go of her. "I'm going to have a talk with him later." He said, anger in his eyes. He wasn't about to condemn her over something so simple, so innocent. That made his blood boil .

She understood his anger, and was simply too tired to even feel her own anger about it all. She shrugged her shoulders listlessly, before she backed herself to a tree and leaned, sliding to the ground. The mother wolf came to her side, settling down with her head in Kaya's lap.

The golden canid eyes settled on the spider imploringly, as if asking him to help her mistress. Kaya's eyes had lowered to the ground, most of her face hidden by the dark hair hanging loose and wild about her head.

Miles had stupid in front of her, standing her up. He looked her in the eyes, his own holding intent. "Its not your fault. He's an idiot. That's his damn fault. What else does he want? He has you. He won, so why accuse the other participants of faulty play?"  He said, tears falling from his eyes.

Her own tears were falling. The ones she hadn't really cared to have spilled during that. She's a bit like a doll. He's able to stand her up. She's moving pliably for him, but it's easy to guess she doesn't really care.

"I don't know. He couldn't explain why he was so upset and jealous. He couldn't tell me. I've told him how I was raised, what I've known. But it doesn't matter. He wants me to be this mortal woman, to know what a mortal knows. And I-I can't." She'd managed to keep the sob at bay until the very end.

Her face crumpled, and she's just so damn lost. She'd been careful to tuck away all of this the past day or so, pretending that it was okay. That everything was the same. But for her, it didn't feel like it. It felt like something was missing. Something she couldn't get back. All of that spilled out in the next moments.

"Your right. Your not mortal. Your better, and he doesn't deserve you if he doesn't see that." He said. "And you need to stop wallowing in pity. It sucks, i know, but you bounce back. Trust me, i know." He said, hiss eyes not showing anymore tears.

She lifted blue green eyes to his, and a subtle spark of fire flashed in her eyes. "I'm hurting, you idiot." She told him. Never insinuate pity on a Spartan woman. They'd spit fire at you. Which it's fairly obvious she's about to do.

"I know you are. Trust me, i know what its like to have someone you lobe not trust you. Remember, you didn't trust me, and you doubted if anything i said to you was true? Now, your in the situation. Just let him vent."

Her back straightened. "Yes, I doubted whether you spoke truth. It's a bit different than having your loyalty doubted. Having whether you're faithful questioned. And being called a liar on top of that. Being nothing but honest and open, never hiding what you feel, giving no reason to be doubted, yet still having it happen. Even you understood why I said what I did to you. Or that's what you told me." She said. Yep, a bit more spirit now.

"Now, I have one more question: Are you sad anymore?" He'd just made her angry, to counter the sadness. One would question this method, but, it worked.

She paused, the anger fading from her face. "No. I'm not." She smiled slightly, humor in her eyes. "You're one of the only people who would attempt that." She laughed softly, moving toward him, and coming to her toes to kiss him lightly on the lips. "Hello, little spider."

"But it worked. I don't like seeing you sad. Ever." He said, returning the kiss. "Hello, Lorelei."

She nodded her head, tilting it. "I really should know that by now." She told him. She slid her hand into his, twining their fingers together. "No more being sad." She said, a glint in her eye. No, now she was definitely angry. Just not at Miles.

"Why are you madmad now??" He said, kissing her forehead. He saw the look in her eyes, and he was curious.

Some light in her eyes struck him that this may have been exactly what she would have looked like in the past, as a Greek. Her chin tilted, her jaw tightened. And her Aegean eyes were a tumult. "Because it's better being angry than it is being sad. Spartan women fight, we don't just give up." She said to him lightly. She as a woman who could aim her anger, and not let it spill over to others.

"What were you up to, little spider?" She asked him, steering their path from her own emotions.

"I was being free. I love the skies. They let me think and vent."

She nodded her head. "So, basically, how I feel about the water. What were you thinking or venting about, little spider?" Why did it seem as if, lately, he was understanding her more and more, yet the love of her life didn't?

"Yeah. It calms me. I feel so free. And i was just letting my mind flow.  I was getting worried. You never came back after you went chasing after Haro, but i didn't mind. I knew I'd find you sooner or later, or, you would come talk to me about it." He said, smiling. He always liked to smile around her .

She nodded her head, fully understanding his feeling. She leaned up, kissing his cheek. "No need to worry, little spider. I just wanted to try and calm down some before I saw you. But I just kept bottling things up, instead of talking about them. So basically, it would have just been more beneficial to come see you that night."

She shook her head slightly. She noticed just how happy he was, how much he was smiling. She found herself answering him in kind, smiling softly at him. It doesn't stop her from thinking that it felt like while one half of this twisted trio was doing fine, the other half felt as if it was crumbling in her hands. And that as the half that she really wanted and needed to work. ****.

He smiled at her, kissing her cheek. "I know... And I'm sorry. I didn't mean to cause any trouble between yourself and Haro." He said, his eyes on the ground. He really felt bad. It was always troubling him.

Her hands framed his face, lifting his eyes back to hers. "Stop that. It's not your fault. Not even close. This...this as all him. And it was a long time coming. Now, I know precisely how much he actually trusts me. Or doesn't, to be frank.

I also know how much he actually listens to what I tell him. Which is to say, not much at all. None of that's on you. Not a bit is on you. So stoppit."
She said firmly, leaning up to peck his lips again. "No bein' upset. How about this...Take me swinging?"

"Hold on" he said, wrapping her arms around his neck. He gently swung away, not wanting to scare her.
