A stone structure resembling Stonehenge stands here where the fog is its thinnest. At the center is a pedestal with a stone bowl full of blood that never empties. Spill your own blood into the bowl then call the name of the person you seek to call back a spirit who has wandered too far onto the other side.
-
The group ended up here. Kaya looked around at the shrine. The very fact that it appears so similar to Stonehenge is not very surprising to Kaya in the least. Not with what she's seen and knows.
She moved toward the bowl. As the leader, she'd make the sacrifice of her blood. She waited for the rest to gather. "If we're going to do this, we'll do it right. Stand at four points, equaling the four cardinal directions, and the four elements. Yukio Air and East, Freya Fire and South, Mika Water and West and Shinkuru Earth and North."
-
Mika nodded at Kaya's words. "Okay." she positioned herself in the west point.
-
Freya nodded and moved into her correct spot, she was curious as to what was going to happen and wanted to take out her notebook, but held herself back not wanting to interrupt the procedure.
-
Yukio positioned himself, ready for anything.
-
* Shinkuru takes his stance toward north and opens a small portal to a dessert mountain so he can use his earth with his watch *
-
Kaya strides forward, slicing her wrist and bleeding her life's blood into the vessel in front of her. She spoke the name clearly. "Akiyuki." And then she waited as her blood stopped flowing.
-
A small wind built up then blew from the border to the shrine. Silence fell. The spirit did not come.
-
Mika's breath caught in her throat at the wind. She waited and watched, remaining silent. She waited for what would happen.
-
"Maybe we should try to call for the other one." she suggested quietly.
-
Kaya wasn't surprised when the spirit didn't appear. If it was that simple, they wouldn't be here. She spoke the second name in thr same voice, already getting the feeling that this spirit would not be making an appearance, as well.
-
Mika held her breath and listened for the wind. She didn't expect the spirit to come, but maybe the energy of the wind would give some sort of clue.
-
The wind picked up and a gust blew through the shrine. It settled into silence. Then came an ear splitting shrill that grew from beyond the border and amplified ten fold at the shrine. The spirit could hear it's name being called, but it couldn't escape. It was clawing towards freedom, hungry to return to life, in so much pain from confusion and loss. The shrill died down into silence once again.
-
Yukio hit the floor, clutching his ears.
-
Mika could feel the pain in the shrill. It shook her through to her soul. She wrapped her arms around her body feeling it through every fiber of her being. All she wanted to do was help the soul, stop its pain.
-
Freya covered her ears, trying to block out the loud sound.
-
A gust swirled around the shrine and blew off in the direction of the Astral Border, beckoning.
-
She lowered her hands from her ears and looked in the direction the wind blew, "So should we continue on, it seems that's the direction we need to go now." she said.
-
Mika tried to shake the shrill from her soul, and looked up at Freya. "I think so, we should follow the wind in that direction."
-
Tears sprang to Kaya's eyes. The siren heard much in that scream, and none of it was positive. It made her heart clench. There were a special few in the Underworld who made that noise. But they'd been condemned to a virtual hell. It was no wonder they screamed that way.
Shoving the thoughts from her mind, she moved to Yukio automatically. That would have sent his mind reeling. As it would have hers, if she weren't outside of her body. She knelt, offering a steady hand to him, waiting for him to gather his wits back to him.
She addressed the rest. "Once he's got his feet, we'll make our way that way. Keep your senses sharp, everyone. Tech-man, you keep that device of yours up and scanning. I want to know if anything approaches us."
-
She nodded, "You sure you don't want one of us to go check ahead while Yukio recovers?" she asked and looked over at Kaya.
-
Yukio got up, his head spinning. "Seesh." He said, grabbing his head.
-
Kaya, looked at Freya, then at Mika. "Mika, fly forward with Kami. Go out about 30 feet, then circle back. We'll keep doing that every couple of minutes." She muttered in Greek to the owl, and it took off.
A hand onYukio's arm, she waited to bring his eyes back to hers. "Hey. I need you to focus on my eyes. Just focus there, and the world will stop spinning."
-
He looked into her eyes, and everything stopped. The world stopped spinning and time began to stand still.
-
Mika nodded at Kaya and took to the sky to make the loop, keeping an eye out for anything out of the ordinary.
-
Freya kept an eye on the area around them while Kaya helped Yukio regain his senses.
-
From the sky Mika could see a man with crimson him staring up at her from just beyond the Astral Border. When he felt her eyes on him proceeded to walk away.
Freya suddenly remembered an encounter with Ms. Sita before departing for the mission.
"Ms. Dracone, take this." She slips a pendant around Freya's neck and tucks it into her shirt. "The book I seek is in the Astral realm. It is possessed by being known simply as the red spirit, but is true name is Kuei. If you come across him please retrieve this book for me. The pendant will lead you to it."
(I'm turning in for the night guys we can continue this later.)
-
For a moment, Yukio might think he'd been staring into the Aegean seas on a calm day. He'd practically think he smelled the surf, heard the call of the gulls and the haunting song of something not of this world, and watched the waves ripple. A man could drown in those eyes. Almost literally.
She blinked, and he came back from those depths. At once, they were just Kaya's eyes. Beautiful eyes, beautiful girl, but just eyes. Her quiet smile reflected in them. "Better? Not so dizzy anymore?"
-
(Nights)
Freya felt a slight buzz against her neck, frowning she pulled out the pendant that was hidden in her shirt, she looked at necklace and started walking "Sorry guys I need to go check on something, an extra mission for Ms. Sita." she said distractedly, before anyone could stop her she took off running in the direction the wind had blown.
-
Mika circled back and saw Freya run off as she touched down for a moment. "I just saw a crimson man just beyond the astral boarder." she told the others.
-
"shinkuru went into a bag he was carrying and pulled out a small orb" so whats our next move?
-
Yukio ran after Freya. "What the hell is she doing."
-
Command rang subtly through that silvery voice. "Stop, Yukio. She has something that needs done. Kami is keeping an eye on her. Ms. Sita gave her instructions, she is following them. Those instructions were not yours. This mission is. Let her go." Kaya still stood there, blue green eyes calm, but that voice brooked no argument.
"For now, we continue forward." She spoke to the others.
-
Mika nodded and followed Kaya's direction. She made another circle to check to see what may be up ahead.
-
Another light gust blew past the remaining three, beckoning for them in direction of the border.
-
"shinkuru felt the wind against his neck beckoning him to the border, but he waited for the boss's orders"
-
As Mika was making her second round she was attacked by mysterious shadowed tentacles darting after her like spears.
-
Mika hears the attack with less than a second to respond. She flipped through the air to evade the brunt of the attack. She takes a quick look at what is attacking her, and pulls out her sword in case the attack continues. She calls back to the others, since she wasn't too far out, "Guys watch out there is something out here, attacking with shadow tentacles." She holds the sword in a fighting stance as she backs up a bit.
-
More tentacles appear whipping at her arms and legs.
-
"Ugh" she winces a bit. She focuses and lets her dark aura surround her and her sword. Mika flaps her wings a bit more to get more altitude for an attack. She swings her sword at the tentacles, fending them off from making contact with her anymore.
-
Wind whipped around Kaya, moving it around her. She came up from the ground, moving toward Mika herself. "Arm yourselves. We've got tentacles of shadow." Kaya immediately moved into a defnsive position, flanking Mika, to protect her back. The daggers, formerly tattoos on her forearms, are in her hand. Light crackles as she brings them to bear, jumping between the two points.
-
As each tentacle was pierced, they dissipated, but numerous more would replace those, attacking quicker and faster than the ones before it. Attempting to wrap around the two girl's bodies.
-
Mika twisted in the air to keep from being ensnared. "This isn't working." She called to Kaya. She tried to think of a way to at least keep the tentacles at bay. She conjured a dark energy disk to use as a shield for her, and one to hover in front of Kaya as well.
-
The tentacles kept coming for the girls. Several tentacles slammed into Mika's shield one after the other until it shattered. Before Mika realized it two tentacles came at her flank wrapping around her sword arm and leg and snatched her out of the sky towards a fog that was dark as night.
(cont. in Black Fog)
Though Mika was gone Kaya could still sense her frantic thoughts. The tentacles surrounded Kaya, whipping and slapping at her.
-
*shinkuru shot a giant boulder at the monster* I thought i would see a tentecle monter in real life
-
Kaya herself seems unconcerned over the tentacles. They couldn't touch her form. She simply ignores them as she moves quickly after Mika, shouting at the others on the ground to move quickly. She'd remember that Yukio had deserted the rest when this was over.
A wind reaches downward, swirling around Shinkuru if he'll allow it. He now has wind to manipulate at his will.
-
okay time to end this *he use the air to slice off the monsters tentacles and runs off with Kaya*
