Title: Room 321
Post by: Kaya Mitsume on June 23, 2012, 03:09:38 am
Kaya sat in her dorm, at a small table with a velvet cloth spread out upon it. Over the cloth, an intricate tarot spread was laid. Currently the young woman was studying it, somewhat incredulous at what the godforsaken cards were telling her.

"Well **** me sideways. That's just a whole lot of nothing helpful." She muttered to the cards. She sighed out a put upon breath. These cards were grouchy. Quiet music plays in the background.

Mika walked down the hallway slowly, on her way to Kaya's room.  She hadn't ever met Kaya before, but wanted to do her best to get off on the right foot with everyone, even though she tended to be nervous meeting people for the first time.  Looking at her watch she noticed it was almost 7.  When she found herself outside the door to room 321 she took a breath and knocked on the door.

Kaya answered her door in jean shorts and a blank tank. "Heya! Come on in! I'm so glad you made it!" She stands back to let the other girl make her way inside.

The dorms walls were bare, but for two book shelves filled with books on half of the shelves. The other half of ther shelves held a variety of orbs in different stone, from Clear Quartz, to Rose, to Smoky and even an Amethyst and Citrine orb. There was more of the Rose Quartz scattered through the room, with a healthy sprinkling of Clear Quartz for good measure.

Anyone sensitive to energy or emotion could say that they'd found a safe zone here. Negative was purified out, and positive vibration radiated through it. The bed was comfortable, and there were two upholstered chairs for the girls to sit in near a table.

"Can I get you anything? I've got water, and various soft drinks, you name it, I likely have it. I've got a bit of an addiction." Kaya smiled lightly. "I've got chips and snack cakes. As well as every girl's best friend. Chocolate. Pick your poison, and I'll get it." The girl was chattering vaguely. She realized it, but also attributed it to nerves.

Mika smiled warmly at Kaya.  "Thanks for inviting me." she said, "I would take some water and a snack cake."

Mika walked in the room and looked around Kaya's room.  It was a really warm environment.  "I like your room." Mika said.

Kaya grabbed a bottle of water for both of them, and the box of ho-hos. She gestured to the seats and the bed. "Wherever you feel comfortable sitting is fine with me." She waited for the other girl to take a seat before taking her own.

She smiled at Mika. "Thanks. I tried really hard to make it that way. So, what classes have you got this year? What's keeping you busy?" Kaya opened her water, taking a drink, but kept her eyes in Mika.

Mika took a seat in one of the chairs, and took a sip from the water bottle.  "Umm, Im taking elemental studies 1, magic, swordsmanship, marksmanship, and ...... assassination 101, i think."  Mika said, suddenly realizing how violent her classes sounded.   "Im pretty sure the last one was just a random choice to round out the course load."  she said giggling nervously.

"I also like to spend time with my friends,  and my boyfriend."  she added, "How about you?"

Her nerves vibrated off her. This prompted a rather motherly or big sister repsonse from Kaya. "You don't have to be nervous about anything, Mika. I'm definitely not here to judge. 'Sides, I'm not worth you feeling nervous about. It's just me.

For my course load, I've got Elemental, Demonology, Tracking, Survival and Melle/PE. I've pretty much stuck with those all four years. I've had a smattering of other things, but those have been my preferred.

I'm making friends, as I haven't had a good chance in the past to do this, and apparently, my love life is up for much debate, as it's been insinuated that at least three individuals have a crush on me."
Kaya laughed softly, gesturing helplessly. "What can a girl do? How long have you been with your other half?"

Rina walked into Kaya's room and settled on the empty bed, smiling at the other girl that was in there. She put her bag on the bed and laid on it. "Ohhh, this is so much more comfortable than the ground."

Mika blushed slightly thinking of Shinji, "We haven't been together that long, basically since I got here.  But it is hard to imagine life without him at this point."

Kaya nodded. Young love was like that. It was obsessive, world swallowing, greedy, needy and generally a train wreck to watch for everybody but those that were in it. But, the girl knew where Mika was speaking from.

Kaya made the introductions between the two girls. "Mika, this is my new roomate Rina. Rina, this is my neighbor a few doors down, Mika. I like making interesting friends, and you both seem like the tpyes that fit the bill."

Rina nodded towards Mika and smiled warmly. She looked back up at the ceiling deep in thought about the reason she came. It could wait for now.

Miles swung into the building, and when he found the room he was looking for, he gently knocked on the door, not trying to sound too scared.

Kaya moved to the window curiously, giving both her guests apologetic looks. When she saw Miles outside, she opened the window. Her brows furrowed slightly. "What's up? What were you upset about earlier on in the day, at the springs?" She's concerned, evident from the frown on her mouth, and the line between her brows.

Miles looked at Kaya with scared eyes. "I've done something terribly wrong.. See, after the clusterfuck on the roof, I went to the underwater taverns, where I hearda mysterious voice call my name. I ventured the cave to find a statue of Kyo, our principal. He asked me what I wanted. I told him the power to protect, and I touched an amulet that was on the statue and the statue came alive, like some sort've demon... Principal Kyo came in and asked me where he went, and I told him that he walked into a portal and left, and when I went to my room, I found these." He said, showing her his elemental webbing.."Kaya..I think I've let out a demon.."

Kaya's brow furrowed deeply as she frowned harder. "Whoa, whoa, whoa. What makes you think the thing was a demon? What did Kyo say? What was his reaction?" His reaction would tell Kaya a lot about what the hell might have happened. "Get in here before patrol sees you, and thinks you're being a pervert, and window peeking."

Miles jumped into the window. "He grabbed me by the collar and his fangs grew out... He seemed really angry..."

Kaya nodded her head. "So it's certainly something that he didn't want freed. But, why would it be inside a statue of him? That's just faintly weird." Her eyes narrowed consideringly. "Are we sure it's gone, or is it still out there? There is something not kosher going on, right now. I don't like it. "

Miles sighed. "It's out there, and I'm going to stop it." He said, obviously still scared, but trying not to show it.

The morning after, Kaya awoke from a restless night. Her dreams didn't bode well for any of them, especially not with last night's news. She swung from the bed, all ready getting ready to shower.

Once she's dressed, and her eyes have been pried open, she brews some tea. It's ginseng and mint. She brews enough for Rina, her new roomie. If Rina is awake, she gets a smile. If not, when she does awaken, Kaya is gone, but there's a note. It reads:

There's a carnival in town. Miles and I are going to go. Wanna come with? I'll be heading back here at about 6 to change. See you then?

-Kaya

Rina woke up later than she meant to. "Damn... that bed really was comfortable" she laughed. She read the note Kaya left and smiled. "Guess I missed that." Rina laughed again and got dressed then headed out to look around.

Kaya gathered her hair back into a neat braid that fell to her waist. The cottony pants she wore clung to her hips and legs, but gave her the ability to move as she would. Her long sleeved top was light and airy, but woven to be protection from a lot of things.

She slid a pair of fingerless gloves over her hands, the worn leather telling of their age. Her boots had a very low heel, and were just as battered as the fingerless gloves were. The cloak swiftly followed, sweeping to her ankles. The hood shrouded her face from sight. One the cloak was in place and the hood up, it garnered her quite a bit of camoflauge, as if that were it's whole purpose. Funny, it was.

Her steps were silent as she made her way out the door.

Kaya moved from the shadows in her dark dorm room, carrying Miles and with a dazed Haro wrapped around her. She flipped the switch to the light illuminating the room. She wanted light. Now.

She gently set Miles down on a stack of blankets, unconcerned if he bled all over them. With a flick of the pin, the cloak swings from around her shoulders, to lie across the bed in a bleeding black puddle of velvet and silk.

Kaya is in all black, which hides the blood. She grabbed swiftly for the messenger bag, the bag of gemstones coming to her hand. With a practiced ease, she set forth the precious and semi precious stones. She was drawing a healing circle with them.

Bloodstone, clear quartz, amethyst and pyrite came to hand quickly. Apache's Tear, known for it's psychic masking properties found it's way into her hands, and was quickly activated and scattered over her room. Their identities would be masked for a time.

The healing circle began to do it's job nearly immediately after it was complete, Kaya feeding her own life force through the stones and into the bleeding teenager. Slowly, those wounds began to knit.

Miles eyes opened slowly. He looked around the room at Haro, then at Kaya. He felt bad, not for Haro, but for Kaya. What the two boys were putting themselves through for her. His lips parted slightly as he spoke. "Hey... I thought you were dead.." He said, and coughed a bit, then his eyes shifted around the room.

Kaya's face is unhappy. "The sinner silhouettes got to the both of you. They got to me too, but then my defenses kicked in. They don't like light. Neither of you...could hear me. Or see me. You kept screaming about me, but neither of you would listen." She took a shaky breath. The feeling of being invisible was still a little too fresh. It hurt.

"I didn't understand what the two of you were yelling at each other about. None of it made sense. But, once the light was in the room, both of you snapped out of it. What the hell happened?" Miles was slowly starting to get stronger. A bit of euphoria is settling over him. Perhaps because of Kaya's life force?

Kaya held out her hand to Haro. "Come here." She beckoned to him.

Miles sat up, he was getting his full strength back, but he was still shook and angry. "Hothead over there tried to kill me." He said, his symbiote still in partial control.

"..." he slowly looked at her. his hand lifted tward her, and bypassed her hand, instead finding its resting place on her cheek. "your... realy here... your warmth... your... your realy... realy..." his tears slowly turned into full blown crying, an act foreign to him since he was young. he wraped his arms around her and burried his face into her. "y-your here! your alive!" he sobbed. "i-i thought you... you...you..."

Before Haro could retort, Kaya held up her hand. Her eyes were stormy, and thunder echoed vaguely in her words. "Stop. This is not going to turn into a fight. You-" She pointed at Miles. "Lay your self back down now. I'm pumping my own life force into you, and you're not gonna be stupid and squander it. Lay. Back. Down." The girl could look intimidating when she wanted to.

As an afterthought she looked at him. "Take off that goddamn suit. It makes you different. It makes you start fights. And you feel angry and...dark." There was softer Kaya. She was trying to stay strong, but worry still made it through her voice.

When Haro started to cry, Kaya blinked. The amount of emotion pouring off the man was staggering, especially to someone who already felt like she'd been tossed around in a hurricane. She let him curl into her, and willed herself not to cry.

Kaya remains physically in the room, and part of her consciousness is there, but she looks deeply inward for a minute or two.

Miles blinked up at the ceiling. The symbiote crawled slowly off of him. "Thanks..." He said, still looking at the ceiling. He just kept blinking. For some reason, he just didn't feel like crying. "I think it's done.." Miles said, trying to get out of the situation. He didn't want to sit there, while Haro was crying into Kaya's shoulder. He didn't want to deal with that. "I really think it's done now.."

All of a sudden the room's air pressure seemed to go back to what it was supposed to be. Kaya opened an eye, fixing it on Miles. "Stop lying to me. You're attempting it against an empath. It. Never. Works. So quit thinkin' I'm stupid enough to fall for it." There are no tears in the girl's eyes. If anything for a moment, she's more fire than water.

She let Haro cry his grief out. And watched Miles. "He's crying because he was damn sure I DIED. Like never coming back, end of the road, no ending but that suck ass way to go, died. What did you think happened to me?" Kaya was curious, as she hadn't known what was going through Miles' mind.

Kaya looks nonplussed for a moment. "But they use your fears and negative emotions against you. What could that have to do with anything? I don't understand. His fear is easy to figure out. Losing someone else he cares about." Kaya quieted, and once again, he hears her over his spidey sense.

"What is your fear? Why did it use me against you too?" The girl wanted her answer, but wouldn't put Miles on the spot by making him say it in front of Haro, if he didn't care to.

Miles paused for a second, choosing the right words to say. "Because, I care for you deeply." He said, looking at the ceiling, almost with a blank expression. "And I thought that he killed you, someone that I care for, deeply. What had that suit done to him? In his mind, what had happened...what that voice told him..What he saw.. Was still racking his brain.

She's still vaguely confused. "Well, yes. Both of you do. I don't understand why you found the situation ironic, as you told him. You were both yelling a lot of things at one another. It was difficult to completely understand." Kaya has a feeling that she doesn't want to know what he saw, bu that she needs to anyway.

She asks him quietly, and seriously, "Will you tell me what you saw? Or show me?"  Haro seemed to snap from his daze, looking at her so earnestly. It was her turn to search for words. And for once, the eloquent young woman was out of them.

She looked at neither of the men, instead focusing on a spot on the carpet feet away from where she sat. "I uh-" She stuttered gracelessly. She took a breath, as if trying to shore her will. "I was still in the room with you both. But, no one could hear or see me. Neither of you could even sense me. It's like...I just disappeared. And I felt so head blind. I couldn't feel either one of you, even though I was standing inches from one or both of you most of that time." She gave a quietly exhaled breath. She's actively controlling her breath.

This doesn't stop the quiver of her lip, or the waver in her voice. "I was alone in all the ways that count, but not so alone that I didn't have to watch you two ripping into one another. No matter what, I couldn't do a damn thing to stop it. And then when you both started fighting in earnest, suddenly I could feel you.

All that hate and malice, so dark. I just kept seeing the room covered in blood, until finally I couldn't take it, and I snapped. My defenses kicked in, and I just lit up with that light."
The girl is still befuddled at how she did that.

Miles let out a deep sigh. "Go ahead, take a look for yourself." He said as he left his mind and emotions open for Kaya to see.

"So you were there the-" He said, but stopped as she saw Haro hug her. Again, he looked blankly up at the ceiling, trying to forget that he had tried to kill him.

Kaya pulled out her scrying mirror, wrapped in it's midnight blue velvet. She set it down in front of Miles. "Look there, and re-play the events of what happened from your perspective. It'll be a lot less disorienting this way. And you won't have to relive them at all." She took the mirror from the velvet, nestling it into the cloth.

She sinks into the embrace offered her, one of her hands sinking into the fabric of his clothing and seeming to hold on for dear life. But she nodded at Miles, not needing him to finish the sentence. "Yeah, the whole time. Why?"

Soon, Miles couldn't find himself to stay awake, so he drifted off to sleep.

haro felt her hold onto him and simply kept hold of her, as if he would never let go. afew of his tears slipped, as this embrace gave him as much reasurance he wasnt alone again as he hoped to give her. he understood little of her conversation with miles, but all that mattered at the moment was that she was ok... that she was realy there.

Kaya'd been tired enough to sleep right on the floor. The only movement she made was to grab a blanket for Miles and throw it over him, tucking him in a bit, and to grab a blanket for herself and Haro. She hadn't bothered with crawling into her bed, she'd just rather exhaustedly curled into a ball on the floor after grabbing all of them pillows from the bed.

When morning came, it saw a very quiet Kaya opening her eyes. She was very good at maintaining her breathing and heart rate as if she were still asleep, so she laid still as a doll. It was an ideal time to process, without demands from either male.

Empath that she was, she'd know when either awoke. And she thanked whatever kami it was that made sure she had no nightmares last night. The last thing the girl wanted was to have either of them hovering worriedly over her.

She moved smoothly, getting up silently. She padded her way into her closet, grabbing clothing for the day, then went into the bathroom and shut the door. Showers always left her feeling a little more human. She'd hope that would be how it worked.

haro was sprawlled out on her floor. when she awoke, one arm was stretched in her direction. however, haro was farther from her than when they had gone to sleep, and his other hand was gripping his blade as if for dear life. unlike the lucky empath, the posessed child did have a nightmare, and a savage one at that. he was in a cold sweat, and had clear cuts across his forearms. what caused them was unclear, but his heart still raced. he was still in it.
Title: Re: Room 321
Post by: Kaya Mitsume on June 28, 2012, 01:42:33 pm
Kaya padded from the bathroom, fully dressed and still damp from her shower. The nightmare still holding Haro in it's clutches is painful to feel for the empath. It didn't help that he still had her pendant on.

The girl padded over, coming to her knees behind Haro's head, and placed quiet hands on the man's temples. Gentle warmth washed over him. She can't help the nightmare, as that is his own mind torturing him. She can wake him gently, however. And this is what the girl did.

when her hand touched him, she felt a warmth too. it was blood. a fresh cut like the ones on his arm opened on his cheek, under his eye, and splattered blood everywhere before starting to just flow downward. if she moved to help him, 2 more would form on his chest, cutting his shirt as well, and much blood would be lost as his eyes shot open and his body sat up, holding the fresh wound and panting.
Title: Re: Room 321
Post by: Kaya Mitsume on June 28, 2012, 01:59:10 pm
The empath watched the wound open when her hands touched, and with a gasp, she pulled her hands away. Unable to touch him, she could do little to help. But nor was she willing to risk more damage to him.

Her hand grasps for the pendant that was nearly always at her neck, but she remembers. It isn't there. Her nails sink into her hand out of pure frustration. A fine tremble moves over her skin, as the storm child tries her damndest to control that rush of helpless anger. She slowly got up, moving into the little kitchen, turning on water for tea.

Helplessness made her angry. And someone she cared about hurting made her angrier. It wasn't a good combination. Stormy sea eyes matched what was beginning to happen outside.

(lol ik i made it seem this way but uk it wasnt ur fault im cut up rite? :P)

haros wounds quickly closed up once he awakened, but it took him abit to pull himself together. slowly he rose and followed kaya. he was still holding his chest, his normally blue eyes had a red tint again. he was breathing heavily but tryed to smile at her. "good morning...."
Title: Re: Room 321
Post by: Kaya Mitsume on June 28, 2012, 02:30:12 pm
((Nope, Kaya has not a clue that she didn't cause it. It was too well timed, so she thinks that her trying to help wake him up caused his nightmare to hurt him further. Like it was trying to scare her back.))

The girl had braced her hands on the countertop, and seemed to be staring at nothing in front of her. A small bowl sat on the counter beside the stove with a tea ball and a large cup. Inside the bowl, loose tea sat, the light smell of rosehips, mint and something faintly spiced emanated from it.

Her eyes moved to his, noting that his wounds had closed. That, at least, eased her some. She remained braced as she was, her body slightly tense. The black denim skirt and tank seem to be her usual, but her feet are bare. And instead of being in it's sheath at her back, the dagger sits next to her on the countertop.

She let out a breath. "Good morning. How do you feel?" A strange question from the empath, but she asked it anyway. She picked up the dagger, sheathing it, not at her lower back, but at her outer thigh, instead.

The oendant around his neck is humming with her own emotional wavelength. And Kaya is tense. She's nervous and jumpy, worried, very much, about Haro himself. And she'd dreading seeing what Miles left for her in the mirror.

For the first time, Kaya doesn't make an advance to hug Haro. But there's little doubt that the woman needs a hug.

haro sensed she was troubled, and he didnt need the pendant or to be an empath to see it. haro advanced on her and gave her the embrace she so obviously needed. "... your realy here. he was wrong..." he mumbled to himself. what he refered to was anyones guess. "as long as your safe, im just fine." he then said softly as an answer to her question

Miles woke up with a jolt, kicking the blankets off him himself and jumping to the ceiling. He was covered in sweat, and he seemed in a daze. He looked around, looking for an exit, and when he found one, he swung out of the window.

Her body remained tense for all of three seconds. And then she did all but go limp and slump to the floor. The strength she'd shown the night before made it easy to forget exactly how petite in build and stature that she was. The reminder is quickly enforced as the small woman burrowed against the man.

Her ears hear what he said, and she responds automatically. "I'm fine. I promise you. I'm not hurt at all, and I'm not going anywhere." She felt Miles exit her home, and she shuddered slightly. She looked up at the man, meeting his eyes with still semi stormy eyes. "This is likely the place that I'm safest here. The protections null most any psychic powers. All but for mine, usually."

Her ams had slid around Haro in immediate reaction to the hug. Her voice is faintly muffled against his chest, but still audible. "What were you dreaming about?" She's not saying something. Her hair is still damp from her shower, but it's down and completely free.

Kaya jerked, startled by the teacher's voice. She did not immediately let go, however.

haro held her still aswell. "they can wait for us..." he said firmly, looking back into her eyes. but as he moved on to answer her, his heart raced. she could pick up on his fear. "...it was me... i fought myself... the one, if i understand last nights events right, it was the me miles fought... he tryed to kill me... my eyes... they're red arnt they?"
Title: Re: Room 321

She nodded her head in agreement with his assertion. They would wait.  She looked up at him. "Your eyes are still blue, but they have a tint of that red to them. Would that..force still hurt me? You were dreaming when I finished my shower. There were cuts all over you. When I tried to wake you up, it was like it hurt you more to try and get me to stop. So I did." It strikes Haro that the day was a bit on the grey side, looking as if it would storm at any point.

She blinked. "Why does it want to kill you? What Miles fought last night wasn't you. It didn't feel like you. It's like you were gone, and you didn't come back until you finally saw me." Her eyes were definitively sure of what she said. She hadn't felt him once that thing was in control. "What is it, and why did it leave so suddenly last night?"

((Could likely post over in the practice fields, and narrate that the two show up about a half hour after Serena gave her announcement.))

"... then its restrained for now" he mumbled. "the... what ever it was was... some sort of demon... with red glowing eyes. immensely powerful... and sang all of last nights fears like a demonic chant... every fear of loss... of being alone again..." haro started to shake, and unconciously held abit tighter. "every burning bit of hate... every heart tearing pain ive ever felt... all on me at once... smothering me... the cold... dark... lonelyness.... its all i could feel... pain... lonelyness... hopelessness... like it was my fault... like you were gone and again i couldnt do anything... everyone... everyone always... always leaves me... always alone... always..." his eyes became abit redder, he was in a trance like state, as if slipping into the darkness he described. he clung to kaya like his last ray of light.

Her voice rang out as she watched his eyes become more and more red. "Stop. Control yourself. Stop this now." The petite woman snapped out the words like a general. She forcibly pulled his eyes to meet hers, her face contorting slightly in a snarl. "You can't have him. Not while I'm here. Haro, focus."

She didn't like the idea of whatever that was controlling him. It wanted death. It wanted blood and evil. It was so tainted with all the negativity that it made the young woman feel as if she were coated in something gruesome and dirty.

Her discomfort made the various crystals around the room flare to life, the stones working to suppress the perceived threat.

The gems do not crack. They'd been made to withstand things like this. The negative power is released and nulled. The young woman appears to be protected from this, but she could no more protect Haro from this than she could stop it.

Kaya caught him, lowering herself to the ground as she cradled him in her lap. She wiped at the tears on his face. She began a singing chant in a very old and very arcane language. Her skin seemed to glow from within.

A soothing heat radiated from the girl. It radiated protection, and purity. A touch of divine seemed inherent in the woman in that moment. She wanted that darkness back under control, or she wanted it gone from her home. She knew it wouldn't be going anywhere, since it apparently was connected with Haro, so she did the next best thing. She called on her Spark, and proceeded to bind it from harm, here in her home.

haro seemed to be in pain from this process, and at the same time becoming more stable. the wounds stoped bleeding by now and he seemed more like he was asleep than unconcious. but it seemed he was switching between a dream and nightmare. at some points even letting out grunts and moans, and then one intense scream. his eyes shot open as if woken by his own scream and he staired up at kaya. the red in his eyes slowly receded

Kaya's skin shimmered, the magick she used leaving her something that dazzled the eye for a moment. For just a moment, she looks unearthly, and barely mortal to Haro's eyes. He had a moment to wonder if this was the same girl he'd gotten involved with.

Then that light dimmed, and the dazzle fell to a faint shimmer if she moved, like faerie dust on her skin. Her eyes were the purest of blue violet. When his wounds knitted, her head gave a nod. The light faded from his eyes, and finally her face relaxed from their stern and set lines.

The knock on the window made the woman turn her head toward it, blue violet eyes finding Miles clinging to her window. She reached out, the window opening with her gesture. A dark brow arched, looking over the man that perched in her window. She spoke mildly, as if blood wasn't spattered all over her kitchen. "Might want to get in here. Those guards have a thing against perverts." Her tone was vaguely wry.

By now, the water had boiled down, so with another flick of her hand, she turned off the heat. She then looked down at Haro again, gazing deeply at him. "You finally back again, koi? The red is gone." She said matter of factly.

While the men talked between them, making nice once more, Kaya really wanted her tea. With a wave of her hands, water found it's way to the pot once again, and the heat began to do it's thing.

There is no mistaking the relief that rolled off her as the males calmed, and seemed to be coming to an even keel once more. She cared about both, and didn't want to see them at odds, and certainly not with her in the middle of it. It had been a bloody day and half.

"That's good. Look she's beginning to relax. You've made her happy."

She dropped a kiss on Haro's forehead, cupping his cheek affectionately. "You, koi, need to let me up. I want my tea, and I haven't had it yet today. My day never goes right with out my tea. Do either of you want some, as well?" She waited until Haro had sat up, and she climbed gracefully to her feet.

She moved to the stove, reaching out to absentmindly squeeze Mile's shoulder, kissing him on the cheek chastely before moving to the stove. If either spoke up for tea, she got down the glasses. The tea steeps in a porcelein teapot, the tea ball floating inside it.

Once the tea has steeped, and the smell of rose and mint, with an underlay of something spicy permeated the room, the tea is poured out with a studied ease by the woman. She's done this countless times from the casual movements.

She picked up her cup, leaning with her back against the counter, cradling the mug. She sipped the liquid cautiously, and made happy noises, bobbing her head with her delight for a moment. This action is vaguely adorable.

The young woman shoved her hair back from her face, that faerie dust sheen shimmering over her. She handed the cup off to Haro. The taste is sweet, naturally so. The mint leaves behind a coolness in his mouth and on his lips. She doesn't notice Miles' shock. That's odd for the empath. It strikes Miles as such, as well.

She looked up, her blue violet eyes still sitting at that shade, something that didn't happen often. She looked between them. "I don't really care to go and train. I think I've had enough of violence and blood to last me for awhile. I'll show up, because they asked me to, but I'm not training. Do either of you have something you want to do today?" Her foot kicked vaguely at the ground. There's a smear of blood on her thigh, about two inches above her knee. The skirts edge flirts with it. She hasn't noticed it's presence

Miles let a sigh of relief when she didn't notice his shock. Miles really wasn't in the room, as his mind was somewhere else. 'Uhh. I agree with Haro." He said absentmindedly.

Miles was trying to figure out what Kaya reminded him of. Miles snapped his fingers as he remembered. "That's it.. My mother used to tell me stories when I was a child. And one of them was about a sea nymph. She was the most beautiful in the ocean. It was like she was touched by Calypso herself. She head blue eyes, that moved with the push and pull of the ocean. Her hair, soft and calm, like the night sea. She was kind and caring, and always put others before herself. She was adored and envied by others, and went by the name of Lorelei." Miles said, daydreaming back to when his mother and father were still alive, a single tear flowing down his cheek. He didn't even notice the blood on her thigh.

The concern from Haro made the woman arch her brow at him, her blue violet eyes questioning. What was that, she seemed to ask silently.

But she froze, mug halfway to her lips when Miles started talking. Froze like a deer in headlights, lavender eyes wide and helpless. Hearing that name again caused a bittersweet ache somewhere in the vicinity of her chest, her throat tightening painfully.

She set her mug down with shaking hands. "My mother used to call me that. 'Lovely Lorelei'. She said I was named for the ocean. That the sea held a piece of my soul, and I held a piece of it. That was my name, before it got changed to Kaya." Her face is torn between the happiness of remembering her mother, and grief that it had been so long since she'd heard that name. She's struck silent and still.

Miles looked at Kaya with wide eyes. He didn't mean to do that."Sorry...I just...you reminded me of a story I heard.." He said, looking at the ground. For once, it was the other way around. He knew what she felt. If he was right, Haro did too. All three had lost their mother. Miles looked at Kaya, not sure what to do. He shook his head. He sunk on the wall, hugging his knees and looking at the floor. He then looked up at Haro. Haro had done what Miles wanted to do, but for some reason couldn't.

Maybe I should just stop... He thought.

She shook her head. Her eyes are on Miles. "No... Don't be sorry. It was...surprising. But not a bad thing." She held her hand out to Miles. She stepped into Haro's embrace easily, but she invited Miles forward, as well. She nuzzled into Haro's chest slightly. The sadness in both men is palpable to the empath.

Until he comes forward, Kaya remained beckoning. Little could she know how closely she might have been edging toward something shown to the man the night before. But, this time, she called out to Miles.

Miles looked up at Kaya as she spoke. When she beckoned to him, he had an instant flashback of last night. He stoop up wearily and stood against the wall, not wanting to interrupt what Haro was doing, so he just stood and shook his head, trying to get the flashback out of his head.

Her lavender eyes met Miles' own, gazing at him for a moment. She turned back to Haro, and for just a second, it almost looked like she had turned her back on him, choosing Haro yet again over him.

But, the petite woman leaned up on her toes, nuzzling Haro as he hugged her. She gave him a squeeze, but met his eyes and a silent message passed between the two. She gently disengaged from his arms, and took a step toward the younger man.

Her steps are slow and hesitant. She wasn't particularly sure he was willing to accept a hug from her, but the gentle girl couldn't help but try.

To hide his emotion, but in the last few days, Miles had turned into an emotional wreck. "I guess it's no use anymore..." He said, walking to Kaya and wrapping his arms around her, and for the first time in years, his emotions truly showed as tears started flowing down his cheeks.

Her skin, it smelled a bit woodsy with a bit of a spicy kick. Like vanilla and cinnamon with just a touch of clove and something else to round it out. Underneath that is a scent that could only be described as Kaya. It was fresh, like a breeze off the open sea.

Sometimes, it was easy to forget how small the girl actually was, but this was not one of those times. Delicate is a word for her bone structure. Petite didn't even begin to describe it. But, she wrapped her arms around Miles, and didn't let go.

She didn't make those stupid sounds people always made, cooing and babbling like that would make someone feel better and stop crying. She just held on, silent and for lack of better terms, strong. It wasn't a strength of body, but a strength of heart. He's wrapped in a warm feeling. There's a similarity to the safety found in a mother's arms, but it's not a mother feeling.

One of her hands lifted, wiping away the tears. She's smiling softly. "Do you feel better for that? Stop trying to hide away hurting from me. You know it doesn't work." She teased him lightly, ruffling the hair at his nape. Laying a kiss on his cheek, she stepped back and away.

Returning to leaning against the counter, she picked up her tea again, sipping the now cool liquid. "Nobody answered me. Any ideas about something to do? I kinda want to explore, but there is really no safe place to freakin' do that."

Kaya's eyes went wide and she shook her head, as well. She met Miles' eyes, and a silent understanding passed between them, before she looked at Haro. "Yeah, so not a good idea. I don't think they're particularly safe, either." If Miles wanted to explain, that was his story to tell, not hers.

The sky was a little less grey, no longer looking as if it wanted to **** on all of them, and ruin their day. Kaya gave a wistful sigh. "I wish I had a ship. Or even a boat. I want to go out on the water."

Those eyes don't miss anything. And the hoisting of that raven eyebrow said as much. She moved forward, stopping in front of Haro, and standing on her toes to reach the clasp of the delicate pendant. It put her lips near his ear. "You'll tell me later." Though whispered, that tone brooked no argument.

Once the black opal is in her hands, she moves away, once more to her place against the counter. As her fingers fiddle with the clasp, she speaks. "If you're sure you're okay with it, that would be a dream come true."

Slender fingers are still fiddling with the necklace. "Dammit, ow." Once again, the clasp slipped from under her nail, painfully scraping over the senstive flesh beneath. "Can someone help me get this on. It doesn't want to co-operate with me." The look on her face is kinda pitiful.

She beamed a dazzling smile at Miles. "Thank you. The clasp is old and grouchy." She kissed him playfully on the nose, and was turning as Haro kissed her hand. She gave that sparkling laugh.

"Two Princes and a frog. How did the frog get so lucky? I'm gonna go change!" The 'lovely Lorelei' scampered off to her closet. When she emerged once more, she is clad in a filmy, flowy dream of a skirt. The colors bled into each other, but the blues, deep greens, and purples reminded one of sea water at dusk. A halter top had replaced the tank, strappy sandals her goth boots, and her signature dark sunglasses were over her eyes.

For anyone's note, the day is bright and shiny outside. Likely it might have matched someone's mood. Her raven hair is brushed out, in it's wavy, slightly curly mass. The light scent of coconut hovered around her, and her pale skin both shimmered and shined now. She was, in a word, sparkling.

"Let's go, let's go, let's go! Do either of you need anything?" The girl is bouncing, her mind already on the ocean.

haro returned as instructed. lucky the window was still open. haro sat on her bed, but it wasnt long till he was on his back, deep in thought. the past few days had been... eventful, to say the least... his thoughts slowly drifted, till they met his demons. they litteraly met his demons thoughts. in haros head, he stood before him. the dark haro stood restrained by chains of light, set by kaya.

So long as the dark entity does not struggle, the chains remain simply clasped about his wrist. But, from the stench of burned flesh, and the rawness of his wrists, he's struggled mightily. Kaya's chains bound in a non harmful way, but could easily turn harmful, should they be pushed.

The girl had taken no chances with this. The chains were sturdy, thickly woven light. Arcane symbols danced over them. The runes glowed, as if still hot from whatever flame forged them. As they would always be, so long as Kaya lived.

One had to wonder if those flames were the very flames that Hephaestus forged his metals in. If that wasn't the flame of the Gods that Epimetheus and his brother had shared with the mortals that first time. Something to ponder.

after a short and one sided conversation, feturing questions from haro and silence from the demon, haro snapped out of his daze and sat up. he took a fresh cigarette and it ignited as usual. he felt the demon stir slightly, but he was well restrained. afew words came out, however, after the first puff. they sang in his head as they had before. "loss... death... follows you..."

and i awaken :D)

haro finished his smoke, letting it burn right up to his lips and fade to ash. the window was still open so the smoke didnt linger. save for the burn at his lip, noone would know hed had one, and the burn healed quickly. haro sighed when it left him. the devils words still rang. "loss... death... follows you"... he knew haros very soul. his deepest fear. that he was cursed. that his loved ones all die because of him... what can he do? can he protect her? can he hold on to this last ray of light? or will it fade like all the others? how can he protect her? how, when such a horrible danger sits right in the pit of his very soul?!

Keys jingled at the door, then dropped to the ground, a feminine curse in a familiar voice hissed, before said keys are scooped up once again, and the luck is summarily attacked with the keys. It's a rather sticky lock that takes wiggling and fiddling, but the lock finally gives up, and then the door opened, revealing a Kaya, still windswept and complete with beach hair and sunglasses back on her face.

She slid into the room, closing the door behind her with her foot. She brought food with her. And it smelled good. Her nose twitched, and Haro could almost think that she smelled that cigarette, but she said nothing.

He feels rather than see hers eyes on him, those sunglasses hide away those expressive eyes. It dawns that that very thing is likely why she likes wearing them. It affords her some protection from prying eyes. Her voice is casual. "How ya doin', koi?"

It dawns on Haro that this is also a very cleverly placed trap laid by the empath to see if people lie to her. Clever, clever girl.

haro hates liers, and this wasnt a question he could play with. a simple but straight forward question. haro sighed. "alittle troubled, as im sure your aware. he may be restrained but his mouth is still active"

He offered up an honest answer, and she nodded her head. She'd gathered that he was troubled as she'd gotten close enough to the door to feel it. She set the food down on a table, her keys sliding into the basket for them by the door.

The sunglasses come off her face as she steps forward, dropping a kiss to his forehead. Grabbing the bag, she takes a seat on the floor at his feet, and begins to unpack the food. She'd returned with Thai. And a wide variety of dishes from the looks of it.

She leaned against his leg, head against his knee. "So, what's he saying?" She ventured quietly, offering up some of the food, and a fork with it. Though the first test is from her own fork, just to see if he was hungry.

haro denied the food with a simple "no thank you". haro was, in fact, starving. but he was in no mood to eat after his 'conversation'. now on to her question. he feels he might as well tell her. she would get her information one way or another. "... just the chanting again..." he looked down at her. his eyes were filled with ghosts that wouldnt leave him. "he knows my heart too well... and he revels in using it against me..."

She paused with a bite of the vermacelli noodles halfway to her mouth, not quite sure what to say to that. The answer that popped to mind was miserably simple, and therefore unlikely to actually be able to be put into action. That wasn't how fear worked.

But, it was the only answer she could give that would stop that look from being on his face. She rubbed her head against his knee not unlike a cat. "Koi, you gotta stop listening to him. He's telling you the things you fear most, just to keep you close to him, to keep your ear. He'll do his best to make you doubt any shred of something that will make you feel human, and happy." Leave it to her to speak the truth so plainly.

"He's trying to keep his strength off by feeding on that fear. Cut off his pathways to you, and don't let him take from you. You know he'd likely take me from you if he could. One less tie to anything of the light that isn't drenched in death and blood." Kaya pointed out between bites of the noodles and spicy sauce. She still rested her cheek against his knee, looking up at him.

her words hit hard... especially the last point. but as much as she may have ment well, that line nearly brought him to tears. his heart wrenched in his chest. she had just confirmed one of his biggest fears. with it still inside him, he was even more of a danger to her than on bad luck or curses alone. this didnt kill the worth of the rest of her words though... she was right, he was feeding off these fears... these pains... it made him closer to haro... made haro feel more like him. haro couldnt speak. he simply looked into her eyes, and all was revealed to her. he was lost, caught, unable to do anything...

She lifted her hand, curving it along his cheek. "Koi, he can't get me. He's chained. You've seen him. But you need to weaken him further. If we work together, we can make sure he stays chained up." Despite his own fears, he can detect none of it in Kaya. Ultimately, he wouldn't hurt her. That had been proven in the mansion.

Her arm wrapped itself around his leg, her chin resting on his knee. She took his hand in her other, while her eyes looked into his. "Do you want to talk about this, or do you want to leave it for tomorrow? There's other things we can discuss, if it would make you feel better."

haro nodded. hes chained. he just needs to be kept that way. haro held her hand tight, it made him feel better. with their eyes locked, for one moment she thought she saw red flash in his eyes. he left himself locked in her eyes until, at length, he answered her question. "how did it go with miles?" he asked, as a change in subject
Title: Re: Room 321

Kaya accepted the change of topic easily. "We talked things out. He told me that he feels something more for me than just the friendship I thought we had. He kissed me. I don't know precisely what to expect, or what it means." She said all of this matter of factly, and Haro is abruptly reminded of some of the various ways she is different, in her beliefs and views of the world.

She looked at him, and asked quietly. "I know what he wants. What do you want?" She rubbed her cheek against his leg, quietly feline with those blue green eyes looking up at him.

his eyes shrank back, as if hed been shot. for afew moments he was silent... he wasnt sure what to say. did she understand or not, her words seemed to contradict themselves on the subject of her awareness. haro bit his lip, shaking abit. it all hit harder with the demons voice echoing in his soul. it told him hes losing again, painted her innosence as a lie. she mocked him... this rang as he thought, but haro held on to himself. he kept thinking he knew her. that the demons wrong... but his heart still hurt, and little could be done for it. his mouth opened as if he would speak weakly, but no noise at all left his lips.

Her eyes widened, startled and confused at his reaction. "I don't...what did I..?" She stuttered. She could do nothing but listen to his emotions, trying to figure out what had caused this. "But, you're not losing me...I told Miles that. What did I do?" Her blue green eyes, wide with her confused innocence, filled with tears. He was pulling further from her, and none of it made sense.

... an empath who cant understand his emotion... thats what he thought. if shes truely not mocking him, she was as innocent as a child. he looked down at her, his eyes now lightless. the red was undeniably there now, as if a thin veil over his blue eyes. obvious but not. something she wouldnt notice if he wasnt looking straight into her eyes. he held the belief she was simply child like, even though his very soul screamed she lied. he reached his hand to her cheek, it shook, but it was clear he was truing to keep it stable. he even put on a false smile and let out reasurringly, "dont cry. youve done nothing wrong." why he tryed to hide things from her, he didnt know. it was useless but he still cared for her enough to put any effort into protecting her, even if he was a game to her. the sirin had him still, his life at her will.

A whimper came from her, a hurting little girl noise. "S-Stop lying to me. You know I h-hate it. I hurt you, and I don't know how. You think I'm leaving you, or playing with you. And I'm not. I w-wouldn't know how!" She spat, hurting and angry, though she didn't know what to be angry at.

She grabbed his hand, and there was little she could to hide that her own was shaking. "I haven't ever lied to you. I was being completely honest with y-you by telling you what happened with Miles. If I w-was playing g-games, I wouldn't h-have bothered telling you the t-truth. It was better than my m-mother d-did with her men." She lifted a hand to wipe the tears from her face, but it was a rather useless endeavor. More just replaced them.

She looked at the wall, her vision blurred. She bit her lower lip, trying to staunch the flow of tears, one of her hands rubbing right over her heart, as if it hurt. Because it did. Her eyes came back to his, empty of sparkle or much presence. She took a breath, and steadied her voice. "If you're going to let me go, can you tell me why? Explain like you would to a child. Because I don't u-understand." She'd almost done it. Almost spoke it smoothly. But, she still failed in the end.

"..." haro took her in a tight embrace. tears flowed but his eyes still dead. she could feel his heart race, beating irraticly, as a heart does when in pain. his words came out quietly. his lips rested near her ear. the words were simple, honest, and straight from his heart. "i wont... i never... want to let go..."

She curled into him, like a child, on his lap. Her face in his chest, the hot trail of tears burning a line down his neck. They curled there together for what seemed like hours to them, but in all reality, was only minutes.

She looked him in the face, in the eyes. That dead gaze splintered something inside of her. "Tell me how to fix what I did. I don't know how. I've never done this, any of it, before. How do I make this right?" The girl was a wreck to look at. She appeared wilted and bruised.

She put her forehead to his, her arms wrapped tight, clinging like a vine. "How do I bring you back?" She whispered, afraid, though not for herself.

((Has the expression in his eyes changed, at all?))

The girl realized how often she'd cried today. And it sucked. The empath was tired of the emotional rollercoaster she'd stumbled into, but couldn't reach the stop button. Stop the ride, I wanna get off. One minute flying high, the next plummeting straight to the ground. Only to do the whole dizzying thing again.

She pushed her hair back from her face, still looking at him. She was searching for the man that he'd been just a half an hour's time ago. Before she had a moment to think that she might never have him back. And that it was her fault.

Another thing that could be laid at her doorstep, For an empath, she was uncommonly good at hurting those around her. Haro doesn't need the pendant to see all of what swirled through her brain.

She kept getting told that what she knew was wrong. That what she'd seen and lived wasn't how everyone else did. That her mind's way of seeing things was inherently flawed. It left her looking at the pieces of herself, with no knowledge of how to put it together again correctly. But, no one would explain.

It left a lost girl looking back at someone she cared for, with little in the way of being able to find her way back. That light that was Kaya had dimmed, too lost and mired in her own maze of confusion and inexperience. Or worse, the wrong experiences.

Her hands balled into fists, nails in her palms. They bit deep, blood welling in her palms. When she spoke, her inflection was gone. It was as if she told a story. Really, in a way, she was. But stories were about others long past. Stories weren't supposed to be someone's life.

"A Rhine maiden that guarded the most prized possession of the Gods. Rhinegold, from which a thing of such power could be forged as to be the end of all should it fall into the wrong hands. guarding her treasure with little mercy and no perception of boundary. Her wrath was limitless, her entitlement boundless.

Sirens that sang on the winds of the sea, beckoning men to death. Mermaids that lured men to their end in the fathoms of the ocean. Sea witch Circe, who sought to ensorcell Odysseus, to make him stay at her side despite his grieving wife left in Ithica. Once she'd grown tired of him, he would have simply found his body given back to the waters he sought to traverse.

Sea nymphs, elusive and mysterious lovers that carried desperate seamen through troubled waters, delerious and babbling in their mind. Only to disappear with the dawn of the day, and aiding hands of other watermen. A shepard of the innocent, but a harsh taskmistress to those not.

Sailors spoke of the storms of the ocean as being "Calypso's Fury". The arms of the sea open for any man, and don't let go until they're finished. If the man makes it out alive, he is never the same. That man will always dream of her, the cool of her watery touch, the sea salt of her sweat. The haunting scent of her skin, and the caress of it over his skin."
Her voice paused, her focus inward.

The girl spoke in absolute certainty of these things. "Life begotten from trysts, unnamed sires. Not one child the same, as not one child had more than a half relation to any of the others. A child born of the waters her mother ruled, given her mother's eyes, but the soul of her father.

Emotion is petty to gods and goddesses. A fleeting and trivial nuisance. It was something to weave within mortals, moving them like chess pieces on the board. But the child felt it deeper than any surrounding her. The humans. They loved. They grieved. They felt joy, misery, love and hate.

A little girl, wandering unnoticed amongst the life that called to one half of her being. Their smallness, their short lives. Their loves and losses. The battles fought in the name of some emotion at it's heart.

But, her mother's touch hid her from their view. When she passed, the dogs grew quiet and serene. The cats followed something unseen, for they knew her independent spirit the way a soulmate would. The birds sang their sweetest songs. Snakes slithered away, because no land serpent truly enjoys the water or it's folk. It was exiled."
Her story stopped, as if she waited for that to sink into the man that held her. By his urging she would continue or silence herself. It laid in his hands. In reality, it always had.

Her remote gaze found his. "My mother and I, yes. I can't tell my story without hers. Not when she's shaped so much of me and what I know." Kaya's lips twisted into a smile that didn't look right on her face. It was jaded, unhappy, and resolved at once. She'd finish the story, despite how disillusioned and lost she was.

"I walked amongst the mortals. I wanted to be like them, to be able to touch and laugh. To enjoy something as small has a hand to hold or a crisp apple offered. But Mama didn't want that. Or perhaps I wasn't allowed to have that. I don't know. I just wanted to be seen. To know that someone knew I was there, and that I felt their pains and their loves. Instead, I was invisible.

I would go home, and be invisible there, as well. I had too much of my mother's blood to walk seen amongst the flock, but those like Mama thought I was too much my father. 'Her soul doesn't feel right. Her thread is woven, like the common.' I could sing Mama's songs, and do what water maidens did, but it wasn't enough.

Life with Mama was always active. But her moods were so quick to change, and it didn't take much for her to turn cruel and furious. And I hated to be beside her. But, she wanted me there. I made her song more potent. I allowed her to tap emotion, rather than just the lower and baser desires. I made her Aphrodite. The Goddess rising from the seafoam to bewitch and capture men's hearts, inspiring love at first sight. That was Mama."
Her face grimaced. She hated that name most of all. She hated everything it stood for. For a moment, that hatred boiled in her eyes. That didn't belong in that sweet face either.

"The rest of the godlike coil didn't much care for that. That wanted to be rid of me. Mama wouldn't let me go. It was my nurse, my heart mother that saved me. If Mother had had her way, she would have kept me by her side. And the other divinities would have killed me. But Ursa bundled me away in the night, wrapped in a cloak." She pointed at the cloak on her bed. That very same cloak the hid from eyes and senses.

"She made me drink something. It tasted foul, and then it burned. And I screamed and screamed. As it came to pass, I was more Mother's daughter than they knew. My scream killed Ursa." Her voice fell flat. Her eyes were wintery, as if she was beginning to freeze inside.

"I screamed until I fell into blackness, I woke up here. In this room. I was Kaya Mitsume. I had little to no memory of what came before. And I was what you see now. A little more than normal, but not so very out of the norm here. They'd dimmed my Spark. It used to blaze within me. Now, it's barely a candle in thee dark." She blinked, her voice coming to an end.

"If I don't understand, it's because I haven't felt. If I feel, but cannot name, it's because I was never given the words. Love was a changeable thing, never constant or dependable. Affection was open, something freely given and received. Possession was laughable, for how do you possess the ocean, or even a drop of water? The water stays so long as it likes, and then goes. But water is always there. Your body is made mostly of water. Water is always there. It doesn't leave until you die." Her words fell with a certain finality. She looked at Haro, seeming to wait on final judgement. He would either understand or he wouldn't. She only hoped he'd ask questions if he didn't.

She cuddled into him automatically, her eyes lit by a cautious hope. With that same caution, she spoke. "How would you keep me? What exactly do you want from me?" That light of hope was the closest thing to Kaya that had been in those eyes since this had all fallen apart.

She nuzzled her face into his neck and shoulder. He knew more about her than even the teachers here did. It was foolish to pretend at physical distance.

She blinked. Those words, they meant something different to her. But, at the heart it was all the same thing. His eyes finally had light in them again. It felt like sunshine after a sea storm.

His lips found hers, stilling anything she might have said. Her hands found their way into his hair. Finally, she felt warm again. She'd been sure she'd lost him. Underneath his lips, she bloomed. The fire that had dimmed since the fallout of her choice in the ocean sparked back to life with a vengeance.

She nuzzled cheek to cheek, moving her face over his skin. Like a cat trying to leave behind it's scent. Perhaps that's exactly what she did. She might have left that Kaya scent on him.

She kissed the skin she could reach in light brushes, butterfly soft. She established contact in the way she knew how, reciprocating his own gesture her way. Forehead to forehead, she looked him in the eyes. Her eyes said the words, but her lips had trouble shaping them. Those words that had meant less than nothing to Kaya her entire life.

How could they mean so much to her from him?

Where the other had been relatively light, relief in the form of that gesture, this was anything but. She nibbled, nipped and traced, the kiss less than chaste or hesitant. Her body found itself to moving as close to him as it could, pressing near as flat against him as possible.

Her nails scrape not so gently as she grasped his hair. She's intent on him, to the exclusion of most anything else.

The thing that saved them from being lost to impulse and regrettable decisions were the barriers of clothes. Kaya found herself existing in that place of fog and wave and roaring water, catching only her thought to shred the shirt off his very back.

She flexed her fingers slightly, finding that her nails had sharpened, much closer to talons than human nails. That struck a chord hard enough to bring her out of that fog, and quiet the roar. Though she couldn't bring herself to end the kiss abruptly.

She gentled her mouth, lessening the pressure increment by slow increment, her system unwilling to commit a sin like ending this gracelessly. She pulled them back until her lips barely brushed his. She gave a final light nibble on his lower lip, a soothing lick over to ease the scrape of teeth.

Those eyes are back to their hotly exotic color. She simply looked at him. Those eyes conveyed better than words what he did to her. The only way that could make the point clearer was her body. But they weren't going there.

his eyes didnt open for afew moments. he was still lost. soon though he blinked and looked back at her. a red slowly came over his face, as if his shyness had just woken up to all that had happened. still he couldnt remove himself from her gaze. his eyes still locked to hers. his grip on her loosened slightly and subtly when she had eased back, but he still had her craddeled in his arms.

She didn't ease back much, remaining cradled trustingly in his arms. She had little fear he'd drop her, whatsoever. Her nails ceased being the razors they'd become, and her eyes flicked to them for a second, grateful they weren't a danger any longer.

With her now disarmed hand, she traced a finger over the bones of his face, as if memorizing their lines. She flicked a lock of hair from his face, the mane probably less than tidy from restless slender hands. She scritched lightly over his scalp with those nails, gentle, but a motion that loosened tension that usually went largely unnoticed.

She watched the blood flow back into his face. She managed not to chuckle as she watched him hit the color of a cherry tomato. Her sentiment in the water still applied, but she stopped herself from saying it again.

The mischief of the very devil took her for a moment, and she couldn't help but lean forward to whisper in his ear. "Hard to believe a man has enough blood to fill up his face to that color, and still manage to put enough elsewhere. You've proven it's possible." She nipped his earlobe, tugging at it lightly, before giving a low chuckle. The things she said would make a sailor blush. And test a saint.

haro seemed to relax as her nails went over his head. he even let out a low sound simmilar to a pur. but this stopped at her comment. at these words haros eyes widdened. his whole body took the same red as his cheeks.

Fascinated eyes watched the color spread, even as that hand still scritched. She liked that purr. She had a purr of her own, so it didn't strike as odd. It was just another of his sounds to tuck away and catalogue. But she'd never gotten him to blush across his entire body.

If it were anyone else looking at him like that, Haro might almost feel as if he were a new toy being inspected rather thoroughly. But, it was Kaya, so curious though she may be, there's more care than him simply being a toy or a fascination.

At the same time, the little demi goddess was beginning to stretch her wings, and discover the things that were possible for her. It made her dangerous to a teenage boy's control, that fact.

She looked like exactly what she was, with her skirt much like dark waters flowing haphazardly around her legs, and her hair still looking as if it's had ocean winds playing in it, and salt water drying through it. Those eyes and that smile, both siren-like, whisper their own come hither. Dawning knowledge in the innocent girl was a trial, a draw, and a sight.

haro slowly lost his red tint, becoming lost in her gaze again. hes now deeply under the sirins spell, and his eyes showed this fact loud and clear. a knife could pierce him now, he wouldnt feel it unless she released him.  he slowly became drawn in to her, till their lips met once more.

Rina opened the door and walked into the room. "Kaya hey, I'm so sorry I've been-" she stopped abruptly seeing there was a boy in the room. Rina immediately covered her eyes and walked back out of the room, closing the door behind her. A loud "Sorry!!" could be heard on the other side of the door as she made her way back out.

Neither seem aware or hear Rina. One has a siren's song in his ears, the other has the roar of the ocean in hers. They're intent on one another and not much would disturb that.

Seconds pass by, nearly a half a minute, before Kaya's nose twitches. She caught the smell of another female. One very close. Those siren eyes flew open, glittering with malice, her talons brought to bear, as she looked for the origins of that new scent.

Blood pulsed in Kaya's head, her only thought a hissed, 'Mine.' There was no hesitation in the woman. It would end bloodily and badly if another female encroached at this time. She barely registered she she was growling the word out loud. "Mine." The snarl was intimidating, as were the fangs being bared as topaz and sizzling blue searched for the female.

Slowly, as she realized that the threat was gone, the battle instinct faded. The siren was still the captain of the ship, but no longer were the cannons ready to fire. She looked back down at the man beneath her, purring the word this time as she nuzzled. "Mine."

That was all it took for siren's spell and roaring water to overcome them again.

haro simply watched with a smile when she reacted to rina. he was in a trance, nothing could break that, save for her will. when she returned to him once more he held her with one arm, bringing the other hand through her hair. his embrace was the answer to her claim. he truely was hers. all hers.

haro lead kaya back to her room. when she entered he excused himself for a moment. about 10 minutes passed before he returned in a new outfit. it was once again dark in color. it was crimson with a black chain print across the shoulders. the jeans were plain, dark blue jeans, but with a big tear in each knee and around the ends of the legs, showing hed worn them alot, and likely before he was tall enough to fill them.

He hears from inside her room, "It's open, sweetheart." Kaya is out of her battlegear, having looked at the ecru outfit in disgust with the blood. She'd take care of it later.

For now, she stands in the kitchen, her hair loose. She smells fresh, and he's inclined to think she took a very quick shower, as the smell of vanilla drifted toward him.

She stood in a sarong, tied loosely around her waist, the print similar to fire. It, in fact, looked as if she were encased in flame burning white hot at it's center. She wore an airy top that matched the whitest part of the flame. It danced around her everytime she moved. It both revealed and concealed in fascinating ways.

She's stirring something yellowish-clear, thicker than water but thinner than honey, into her tea. The spicy scent of the tea is heady. Not disimilar to other things he's smelled before. "Hey, baby. You want some?" The words were suggestive, but not meant to be so. She held up her own cup, indicating she meant tea. Music plays softly in the background.

She takes in his change of clothes with a slight smile on her face. It was a smile that hid thoughts. Which could be good for him. Or it could be interesting. It was very unlikely to be bad.

She giggled lightly, kissing his lips, and returning to the preparation of tea. She makes it sweet like hers, which was to say, it tasted like spiced candy when she was done. She handed him the cup, walking to her bed, and having a seat.

After a sip, she raised a brow and asked teasingly, "Did I get it right?" She set her cup down, the sound of Tori Amos (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGq4_SrUIyk) more clear, here by the bed.

((Tori Amos is wonderful for that. And baby, you gotta get out more and broaden your horizons. You remind me of how my husband was when I met him. *rolls eyes*)

She seemed content to curl up with him. She rolled her eyes, and looked up at him. "How did I know you were going to say that?" She asked, shaking her head. She rubbed her face against the shirt. She'd never seen this particular one before. She noticed little things.

Her fingers poked at the rips in his knees, attention caught by them. Like a child with a new toy to play with, she sat poking his knee a few times, and playing with the fringe. She laughed softly as she dusted her fingers through the fringe. She looked up at him, stretched out mostly on her side, but partially on her stomach as well. "Fun to play with." She said by way of explanation as she poked his knee again.

"You wanna watch a movie, koi? Or we can cuddle or..." She trailed off, leaving options open.

She pulled a face as she looked up at him. He was lucky she wasn't in a mood for mischief. She'd have tested those barriers. "I vote cuddles and talking." Kaya moved through her day with a vengeance. She'd set a rigorous pace and  schedule for herself. Meditation, training herself mentally and psychically while she was centered. Meditate again, only to move into the rogors of physical training. Her agility and speed were her focuses. She warmed down, stretching out her muscles.

In a way to test herself, she then set to  her mental tests again. Could she focus when her body was tired. She'd have to be able to do so in real situations. And then she began bringing her own elemental magicks to bear. Meanwhile she still focused on still being able to physically react, mentally focus and control her elements.

Needless to say, whens he was done, the girl was exhausted in more than one way. She came back to her dorm and crawled into the shower. Once the sweat and dirt was cleaned from her, she moved slowly and cautiously from the shower.

She didn't bother to clothe herself. She just pulled the Chinese silkscreen around her bed and crawled into it for a nap.

She opened her eyes groggily, looking at the time. She'd been out for approximately 4 hours or so. She climbed out of her bed, putting her robe on, and belting it.

Because of her current state of undress, she checked her peephole first. She opened her door quickly when she saw who was outside. (Before I react, what day are we rolling with him showing up? Basically, before or after the current mess in the Cafe.)

Title: Re: Room 321

Eyes still heavy from sleep, she was in no mood to pretend to not be surprised he was at her door. For just a second, she had the lightning quick wish that she'd gotten dressed in something more than a robe before answering the door. Too late to think about it now. He'd seen it all before, anyway.

She shoved the door open and walked into her dorm. "Close it behind you." She said. Her voice was neither welcoming nor completely unwelcoming. She was trying desperately for neutral, and succeeding pretty well.

The shades were pulled and the room is a little darker than he's used to seeing with Kaya. He quickly notices that she is only in her robe, her hair is more a mess than he's ever seen it, and her face looks drawn and a little tired.

She sat down on her bed. More crawled into it, and pulled the quilts around her like a little girl, but who was quibbling? The room is very cool with the AC on. It's likely about 65 in the room.

She's entirely unsure where he wants to start about what happened at the Cafe. "O-...Kay." She answered tiredly.
Title: Re: Room 321
Post by: Miles Parker on July 05, 2012, 10:30:05 am
Miles looks at Kaya, and sighs. She either wasn't into it, or she was too sleepy to talk. "Just...forget it.. I'll come back later.." He said, beginning to walk out.
Title: Re: Room 321
Post by: Kaya Mitsume on July 05, 2012, 10:48:14 am
Her voice came, short, clear and brittle. "If you walk away from me now, there won't be a later. That isn't an ultimatum. That is truth. Don't make decisions for me. You haven't got the right. Stay or go, it's your choice. But be prepared to stick to that choice." She told him. She wouldn't beg him to stay. If she wasn't good enough for him to have a little patience with, then it was his loss.
Title: Re: Room 321
Post by: Miles Parker on July 05, 2012, 10:55:46 am
Miles turned around. "What exactly do you want?"
Title: Re: Room 321
Post by: Kaya Mitsume on July 05, 2012, 11:04:01 am
She gave him a look of sorely tested patience. "I'd like you to start this off, as I don't know exactly what you want to talk about. A lot was said that night, and a lot happened in a very short span of time. A little more clarity wouldn't be amiss. A little patience would also be nice. I haven't slept well since then, but I've still been training.

I'd like you to stop walking away from me, and thinking you know all that's going on inside of me. You don't. Most of you people don't know the half of it. The only one who understands most of the time is Kami."
She watched his face. She would have put money on the fact that he thought she'd say Haro.

"The third and last thing is. Get that **** symbiote out of my dorm. I can feel it, and it's not welcome. It's caused me more grief than most anything else has." These things were listed quietly, her eyes on him.
Title: Re: Room 321
Post by: Miles Parker on July 05, 2012, 11:18:26 am
The symbiote crawled off of Miles and out of the room. "I want to talk about everything." He started off. "I don't know what's been going on inside of you, and I don't pretend that I do. You're right about what you said. I don't want people to walk away from me, so I chase them away. I don't do it on purpose. It just happens. I work on it. I'm going to guess you're mad because that you were mad at the Cafe because you thought I left you. I didn't. Haro is my boss, and he told me to check on something, so I did. I told you I wasn't leaving you, and I'm not."
Title: Re: Room 321
Post by: Kaya Mitsume on July 05, 2012, 11:35:47 am
She sighed softly. "To tell the truth, I stopped being angry a few hours later. It wasn't worth it to keep being angry and nasty. After that, I was just so tired. I still am." She shrugged.

"I thought you'd left me. You were mad about something that the suit showed you, and accusing me of doing the same thing I did last time. But, I don't feel I did anything of the sort. And it just felt like we were running over old territory covered, that I thought we'd fixed." She lifted her hands to her face to scrub over it, then slid them back into her hair.

She pulled them out, and laid them face up on her knees. Thenshe just looked at him.

Title: Re: Room 321

She sighed again. "Would you just look at me, please. Stop staring at the wall, as if it's got the Mona Lisa in spaghetti sauce painted on it." Her voice has a slight glimmer of humor in it, despite her words being very serious.

"I've told you what was going through my mind. Can you explain your side, please?"
Title: Re: Room 321
Post by: Miles Parker on July 05, 2012, 11:45:30 am
He smiled and looked at her. "Well...The suit was agitated and began to say things. I didn't agree and it showed him kissing you. Then he compared it to what happened in the ocean, and I wasn't thinking straight, so I was mad, and I left."

She looked at him over the edge of the blanket. Her next question was said more quietly than the rest had been. Like she was nervous of what the answer would be. "Do you want to come keep me company over here on the bed, then? I wouldn't mind cuddles." Her voice was sweet and a little unsure.

She gave a deep exhale of breath, like she was releasing tension. And actually, she was. She nuzzled into his arms, pulling the quilt around them both. Her smell surrounded them, as if that scent was embedded into the bed clothes.

She lowered her voice. "I missed you. That's the real reason I haven't wanted to do much but sleep. I missed you, and was worried, and just, everything." She told him, looking at him.

She returns the kiss. "It felt like you did. I thought you might have been mad at me, and I've never actually had someone truly forgiving me. Mama wasn't very big on it." She laughed lightly but shortly.

"Not having you next to me, and knowing you were unhappy with me was unsettling. I had strange dreams over the past couple of days."

She was still snuggling down against him, making happy noises, and generally being adorable. that stopped when she spoke of the dreams. "I dreamed that I was trying to get to you, to help you, but you kept running away from me. You were scared of something. You kept calling me some other name, and telling me you didn't believe me." Kaya shook her head. "I woke up crying from sheer frustration and hurt."

She shivered, and it wasn't because she was cold. "The other one was that you were in the dark. You were calling for me, asking me to help you. You as-" She had to stop speaking for a moment, and take a breath. Her lower lip quivered. "You asked me w-why I didn't love you enough to find you. And when I did you were dead, horribly." She really didn't feel like rehashing how exactly he'd been dead. She fell silent, and only pressed closer to him.

Kaya's brows knitted. Someone who looked like it could be their child? She was frankly shocked that he said those words so easily. She'd ask about it later. But that surprise is there in her eyes as she looked at him.

"So she looked like she could have been...our child? But she wasn't really there. I'm just confused now." Kaya didn't know what to make of that. Not really there? Either he saw her and talked to her or he didn't.

Miles looked at her. "I thought I went inside of the prison, where I met her, but I woke up in front of the prison, and everything was intact."

She dropped a kiss to his forehead and his nose, just to make sure they didn't get too serious. "So, you saw this little girl after you went into a prison. It turned out she wasn't there, anymore than you were inside said prison. But this little girl looked like she could have been ours, was named Charlotte, like your mother. And you thought you'd been crushed to death, and had all your bones shattered." She recapped on their talk, sounding as if she were trying to make sense of it.

"How did you end up dying that way?" She asked hesitantly. She'd seen him in her dream. Crushed beyond all recognition, ripped to pieces through his flank and legs. A shudder ran through her body at the memory.

Those hands stroke soothingly after hearing the faint tremor in his voice. She leaned down to nuzzle him, and he's once again wrapped in that Kaya smell, as well as her softness and warmth. "It's okay, love. It didn't happen." In near automatic reaction, she spoke in soothing, musical Greek. With the siren's voice and the lyricism of the language, it made a good lullaby.

(Yes, I got lazy, sue me. I kept it in English, though she's speaking Greek. If it picks up, I'll actually use Greek. But for now, I'm being indolent.))

She gave him serious eyes in between nuzzling his cheek. "Honey, it was probably something playing with your mind. Didn't we just all go through the mindfuck of the century a week and half ago?" she dropped her voice. The next thing wasn't something she liked to talk about. "And I'm psychically sensitive to those I'm close to. To the point of being precog at times."

She didn't stop softly nuzzling him. Occasionally she dropped a kiss or a nibble, but she still spoke. "Well, you definitely won't be alone here with me. I wouldn't let you be, anyway. I can turn on music, or we could watch a movie. Music is good if you just want to cuddle up and talk. Movie if you're not feeling much on that."

She smiled into the kiss, returning the passion of it. She nipped him lightly. "That sounds good to me." She reached over him, to one of the tables beside her bed, picking up a small black remote.

She pointed it in the vague direction of the foot of her bed, and hit three buttons. Music began playing softly.  Guitar (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Qtp9jUr50w&list=PL04271BF97E494358&index=5&feature=plpp_video) strummed first. This was Kaya's favorite version of the song.

Other than that fateful day at the Cafe, she hadn't seen him.

"I think this needs to pause. Stop and rewind." She told him softly. The music flipped, as if it were tuned to her mood. Haunting voice (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UNGozTgUAkI&list=PL04271BF97E494358&index=30&feature=plpp_video) and piano played. The lyrics were too much, and too fitting for the situation

He was doing it again. Looking at everything but her. Hiding in his shell. Her nails sank into her palm out of sheer frustration. She didn't feel like putting the robe back on, so instead she got up, going into her closet and dressing in her black jeans and black wife beater. She sang softly, absentmindedly to the lyrics that told a story. She knotted it in the back, keeping it from becoming too loose.

She came out, sitting down on the bed, in her own world, and still softly singing. She'd never stopped to hear how similarly some of that seemed to how he could make her feel. Without looking at him, because if she had to watch him hide from her one more time, she'd be done. "Why do you hide yourself from me?"

She didn't look at him. She looked at the wall, because he didn't deserve to see inside her. She sgihed quietly. "And I guess, despite everything, I still count in those ranks." She said rhetorically. She didn't expect an answer, since a lie would hurt, but the truth would do so more.

"It's not weak to admit that there's some part of you that's human. That gets scared, that isn't always sure, that doesn't know all. Or that can't do it all on their own." She should know. She'd watched the mortals long before the world had ever known she was there.

"What is weak, and shameful is your inability to appreciate what's around you, and the things you do have. It's weak to try and pretend at something you aren't. And to hurt those that care for you, by pretending you don't." She said quietly, her back turned, but her posture ramrod straight.

She wondered another question out loud. "I wonder how much of what you've told me about how you feel about me is actually truth."
Title: Re: Room 321

Miles looked at Kaya. He had a look of hurt and anger on his face. "You wonder how much is the truth. I'll tell you. Everything I told you was the truth. Do you really think, that if I was lying about any part of what I told you, that I would still be here? Why would someone put themselves through that? Are you serious right now? After everything, and I mean everything, I was still there. After the fight on the roof, I was still there. After what I felt and saw in that mansion, I'm still here! Tell me, cause I'm dying to know, Who puts themselves in that torture that I **** went through in that mansion, and then has the **** decency to lie about saying that they love someone. After what happened in that **** ocean. You forgot that I even existed!!! If you were any other girl, I would have left right there, but you, I didn't want to leave. I said I wouldn't, and I didn't. What happened in the cafe? You thought I left you, but guess what? I didn't! I was right there the whole time. How can you even ask if I was lying. If I was lying, I would have left by now. But I'm not, and I love you. I love you so much, that even though I've been imprinted by a dragon" He said, showing her the mark on her arm. "I'm still here with you. She imprinted me, and told me that I'm supposed to fall in love with her. But I'm not letting that happen, because I love you!!!" He said, now on his feet, tears flowing.

She looked at him, her face gently mocking. Mocking them, mocking this entire show, mocking this drama that flowed back and forth. "Those things don't mean you love me. Those things mean you don't want to lose." She laid back on the bed, looking up at the ceiling.

If he'd wanted to surprise her or shock her with that knowledge of the dragon, he didn't. "I wondered what that mark was, and when you would tell me. And how long it would take to have any mistake made in the past thrown back in my face, despite protested forgiveness." Her eyes looked at him, at his. She was preternaturally calm, the exact opposite of how he was.

"You wonder how I can dare question that you really love me? Because those that love someone want to know about them. They want to understand the why of what they do. They want to see them with eyes that no one else sees. And they want to give the same to the one they love.

You hide everything from me that you don't want seen. There's nothing that makes me special from one to another. You play the merry andrew even with me. No worries, no fears. What that tells me? No depth. You've got this glib way of viewing everything, and nothing is truly special."
She was telling him everything her eyes had seen. Everything she'd hidden away each time he'd done something that hurt.

"And now I'm even taking the blame for what happened in the mansion. A thing I had nothing to do with, yet it gets brought to bear in whatever argument you think we're having." She smiled a smile that looked like it hurt. "That's the difference. This isn't an argument. Not to me. This is my own wake up call. To you.

I've been alive for a long time, seen a lot of things that most haven't seen. I know emotion very well. I've watched mortals from a place of shadow, and wanted to know them and touch them. But I couldn't, because I wasn't allowed. With you, I feel the same thing.

I want to know you, to touch whatever is deep inside you. In return, all I get are smacked hands and games, because no one is allowed to touch that. No one is allowed to know who you really are. Not even the one you love.

I'm allowed to see you angry, because that's easy. And safe for you. You'll yell at me, and stomp around because that is so much simpler than hearing what I'm saying and actually seeing me. Actually realizing that this is the only time I get anything from you."
Blue green eyes watched him now.

Just gonna stand there, and hear me cry? That's all right, because I love the way you lie. In this tug of war you'll always win, even when I'm right. You feed me fables from your hand with violent words and empty threats, and it's sick that all these battles are what keep me satisfied.

Then she told him quietly. "If the dragon is what you want, I'm not stopping you. If you want to love her, I'm not getting in the way. You're free to walk away from me any moment. I'm not collaring you, and keeping you strangling at my side. But you'll at least leave with the truth. "

Miles stared at her. "The mansion. That wasn't your fault. Not in any way you can think of. And your right, I don't want to lose you...You want to know who I really am?" He said, sitting down on the floor. He was about to tell her everything. Every detail.  "I'm Miles James Parker, or as my parents called me, Expiriment 234. My mother, May Parker, she was the worst possible mother you could think of. She never told me she loved me. She would always give me quotes that never made sense. But still, she was my mother, so I loved her. My father, huh, I can't tell you about him, because I don't know much. All I know is that he was never, ever there for me. I don't even know his name." He said, his eyes not moving from her. "In school, no one liked me, so I just kept to myself. One day, while my parents thought I was sleeping, I crept downstairs because I heard a lot of yelling. Come to find out, it was my mother and my Aunt argue about me, because I wasn't progressing enough. I was too weak. She was going to terminate me, and my aunt didn't want me to die. One day, while I was walking home from school, I got a call. I didn't recognize the number, but I answered anyway. It was the lab, calling to speak to Expiriment 234. Come to find out, my parents had just died in a car crash. In that 3 minute phone call, my entire world changed. I couldn't breathe, and I felt like my head was spinning. I ran home, and no one was there. I looked everywhere, but I couldn't find my parents. I didn't want to believe the fact that they just died, that they just left me. I never wanted to feel like that again, but no, people just kept leaving. I went to live with my aunt, and my uncle, Sam, He was robbed, and shot at pointblank range. He left too. Just like that. I wanted to use my powers to help people, because that filled in the gap. The gap that my parents and uncle left wide open. I swore that I would always help whoever I could. Along the way, I met other superheroes, like Iron Fist and White Tiger. I promised them that I would never let them get hurt, and they promised me the same. I don't want any of my friends getting hurt.. When I left, they promised to protect the city until I came back, and so far, they're doing a damn good job of keeping that promise. You're right, I don't want to lose anybody, so I either drive them away, or walk away first. I'm trying to work on that, but I can't do it alone. What I really am? I'm a freak. A test tubed freak. Other people, born with their powers. Miles' powers? Surgically given and Genetically Enhanced. I have one thing to remember my parents by, and that's this scar on my back." He said, taking off his shirt and showing her a long scar going down his spinal cord. "Now, I actually know what some of those quotes mean. You've taught me thinks that I would've never learned if I hadn't met you. With you, I actually feel safe. I notice certain things about you that can't be replaced by anyone else. Like how your lip sticks out when you pout, or when your lips quiver and you have a deadlock grip when you're sad. With you, I feel like I'm on top of the world, and when you're mad at me, I can't stand it. I know I've hurt you before, and I know that I'm not perfect, but with you, I try to be. That's why I hide myself, because I know I'm not perfect. Because I-" His voice started to get shaky. "Because I don't think anyone will like the real me. People see me as spider-man, the superhero. But all I really am is Miles, the 15 year old lab expiriment."

She listened to his story. For the first time, he told her the entire truth, rather than small pieces, and he let her see. The seeing made the difference. So, she'd give him something back. And like the siren she was, she told her own story with some words, and some musical lyrics.

"I've died a thousand times, drowned in a sea of lies, walked every path through every door. These are the lies, hell in paradise. Legions suffer for the few, never knowing they were used.

Please allow me to introduce myself. I've been around for a long, long year, stolen many mans' soul and faith. I was around when Jesus Christ had his moment of doubt and pain. Pleased to meet you, hope you guess my name. But what's puzzling you is the nature of my game."
The irony of her words doesn't escape her as she smiles slightly.

"I've had many names, and not a single one of them matters now. My mother has more, and I don't know my father. Neither does she. She said I got his soul. A poet's soul, tender and loving. What I've seen isn't exaggeration. I watched Christ walk the Earth.

I watched the Greeks and Trojans fight, and was ashamed because my mother caused that. I cried as Agememnon sacrificed Iphegynia for a fair wind. And comforted the spirit of that little girl when she didn't understand what her father had done.

I watched Zeus **** and pillage in his own way, and Hera strike, not at her lecher of a husband, but at the women, most of them innocent, that he took.

I watched Cassiopaeia placed in the stars, and Poseidon laugh at his own joke. I laughed with Persephone in the Underworld. And I cried when Polydeuces begged in grief for his brother's life.

I lived these things, and loved the mortals. I've watched them grow, and change. Watched their short years fail them, and more babies be born. Tended them like a shepard does their flock. And the entire time, couldn't believe they didn't realize how lucky they were."
She stopped there. She wasn't ready to tell the story of how she'd come to be here, like this.

"Your pain is familiar. As is your fear, your doubt, and your defense mechanism. None of that shocks me or makes me see less in you. It makes me think less when you try and pretend that I don't see those things in you, those emotions. When I ask you why you feel this way, lying and saying you don't makes me angry." Mortals, always striving for perfection.

"I love everything that makes a mortal what they are. Their imperfections, their shortened years, their ability to wrap themselves in their own world. You are no different. You carry the scars of your mortality, mental and physical. You carry the pains and joys of your truths. It's a humbling thing to see what a human can bear, and continue the journey." She opened her hands, as if offering him something.

"You see those things about me. And I SEE you. You'll never just be Spiderman, to me. That is, in fact, the least of what you are in the sum of all your parts." She offered that thing.

"Without you, the ground thaws. The rain falls. The grass grows. Without you, the seeds root. The flowers bloom. The children play. The stars gleam. The poets dream. The eagles fly, without you. the Earth turns. The sun burns.

The moon glows. The river flows. The world revives, colors renew. But I know blue, only blue. Lonely blue, within me, blue. The ear hears. The pulse beats. The eyes gaze, the legs walk, the lungs breathe. The mind churns, the heart yearns, the tears dry without you. Life goes on, but I'm gone, cuz I die without you.

That has been the truth for a long time. Without the mortal coil, I would have withered. You all gave me hope. Now that I'm here, you're one of the people I'd keep to remind me."

She smiled just slightly. He did recognize the song. "Just came to say goodbye, love? Goodbye, love? Live in my house. I'll be your shelter. Don't got much baggage to lay at your feet. But, sweet kisses I've got plenty. Be kind, and don't lose your mind. Just remember that I'm your baby.

Take me for what I am. Who I was meant to be. And if you give a damn, take me baby, or leave me. Never quit, I follow through. I hate mess, but I love you."
The little demi goddess found it easy to speak her mind through the lyrics that had been written by many hands over years.

"Pretty, pretty please, don't you ever, ever feel that you're less than **** perfect. If you ever, ever feel like you're nothing, you're **** perfect to me. The whole world's scared, so you swallow the fear. We try too hard, just a waste of my time.

It's the same sound, same sting, the same collapse of everything. It's the same scars, the same blade, the same lie, the same old vein. You're perfectly flawed. You're perfectly incomplete. No cracks in the glass in faded photographs. You're perfectly flawed. You're perfectly incomplete. Let them condemn. Imperfections make you unique. It's the same doubt, the same dream. It's the same sabotage, cuz I'm the enemy."

"I should tell you I'm disaster,I forget how to begin it. I'd forgotten how to smile, Until your candle burned my skin..Trusting desire -- starting to learn
Walking through fire without a burn, Clinging -- a shoulder, a leap begins, Stinging and older, asleep on pins..So here we go.." He looked into her eyes. "I don't need the suit.. you make me strong enough. I'll throw it away."

She held out her hand. "Let's just make this part go faster. I have yet to be in it. There's only this. There's only us. Give into love, or live in fear. How do you measure a year in the life? In daylights? In sunsets? In midnights? In cups of coffee? In inches, in miles, in laughter and strife?

How do you measure the life of a woman or a man? In truths that she learned, or in times that he cried? In bridges he burned, or the way that she died?"
For the demi goddess, that was the perfect question for her to ask him.

"I don't want to talk about things we've gone through. Though it's hurting me, now it's history. I've played all my cards, and that's what you've done too. Nothing more to say. No more ace to play. The winner takes it all. The loser, standing small beside the victory. That's her destiny." She'd switched mediums. She kissed the hand she held, lightly.

"You can take your time, baby. I'm in no hurry. I know I'm gonna get ya. You don't wanna hurt me. Baby, don't worry. I ain't gonna let ya. I can tell you now, my love is strong enough to last when things are rough." She said softly.

She went into the hug willingly. "Don't be sorry. It's not fun if it isn't rough." He'd be unlikely to be able to sway her from speaking in lyrics now. One of the drawbacks of being a siren. You walked around with music in your head all day. Get a chance to let it out, and it was hard to close it down again.

Her hand lifted to his face, helping him wipe the moisture away. "Let me turn all the tears that you have cried into pearls. Hand them over to me, and I'm gonna keep them for you. I want to hold you. I want to kiss you. I want to mend what is broken. Love me the way you loved her, please. now, I'm giving it all. I'm gonna teach you to trust, and learn how to build experience pearls." She sang softly.

"I'll wear your pearls, more precious than silver. I'll wear your pearls so close to my skin. I'd tear myself apart just to get you."

The kiss was light and sweet, that bittersweet touching of lips that always seemed to come between the two after one argument or another. You and me could write a bad romance. One love feeds the fire. One heart burns desire. Wonder who's cryin' now?

"Am I all alone in the universe? There's no love on these streets. I had given mine away to a world that didn't want it anyway. This is my new freedom, but it's funny I don't remember being chained." She said by way of explanation.

"The greatest thing you'll ever know is just to love and be loved in return. Love has concrete feet. Love's an iron ball wrapped around your ankles over the waterfall. I believe we place our happiness in other people's hands. I believe I'm loved when I'm completely by myself. I believe in karma. What you give is what you get returned." Song was the easiest way the siren knew to tell what she felt she needed to. It was hard to open, but she wanted to, and this was the simplest way for her to do it.

"Some people wanna fill the world with silly love songs. Throw their lives away for one happy day."
Title: Re: Room 321

He looked at her, half smiling. He grabbed her hand. "Well, You're never alone, If what you give is what you get, then I'm giving you my heart." He said, looking at his arm. "I don't want this... I want you. I tried to tell her that I didn't want her, but she just kept saying that I would come to her. I don't want to leave you.."
Title: Re: Room 321

Her eyes darkened slightly. She was remembering the dragon and that mark. "Don't be so hard on yourself. These tears are for someone else. I hear your voice. I hear you feel so alone, my baby. I wanted you to know, i love the way you laugh. I wanna hold you high, and steal your pain away. There's so much left to learn, and no one left to fight."

She took his arm, looking down at the mark. "Love is a cannibal. Love is a dream. A devil within. A freefall, straight up out of control." She looked back up at him. "There you go again, being beautiful you. Setting fire to all you hold onto. A blaze in one hand portraying one sided views. Won't be another friend to a beautiful you." The last line was said like a warning. "I'd free you. I know the words I need to hear."

This point was no time for lyrics and mixed messages. She dropped the lyrics, but in concession, her voice still held the musical cadence it had. "The only way to conquer an unwanted tie is to make another that is wanted stronger. But you'd be tying yourself to a siren. Likely for the rest of your life. Are you sure you want that?" She looked into his eyes, deeply. He needed to know all of it.

"It's unlikely to be broken by anything by real and honest true love. Freely given, freely taken true love. And even if I stop caring for you, and push you away, you'll still be tied to me. It's that unbreakable. It can hurt. It is the double edged sword that love is."

Title: Re: Room 321

Miles swallowed. "My worries and hesitations.. I'm scared that I won't be there when you need me most.... I'm scared that I'll do this, then you'll totally forget about me. I don't want that to happen, but now..I'm sure. I'm ready."

She smiled. "I'm unlikely to forget you. I can't say for certain that I'll always feel romantically for you. I'm a thing of the water, and water is fickle. And I've lived for a long time, and will continue to do so, barring some freakish accident. I'm much too Greek to promise you forever, because forever comes and goes."

She nodded her head. "I do not ever want you to be able to return to me, and tell me that I tricked you, or that I took something from you you didn't wish to give. I am not and will not be my mother. I can't say I won't ever be a monster. But I won't be your monster, unwittingly." This was a different side of the siren than he'd ever seen.

She returned with  a very sharp, very ornate dagger. She also had a Rose Quartz in hand, and a chalice of some sort. From one of her drawers game a black velvet cloth. These things are brought over, and laid out before him.

The velvet cloth gets lain down, and the rest of the accoutrements get laid out. She sits. And then she looks at Miles, stretching out her hand and touching his cheek softly. She simply watches him, and touches him. This next is his move.

She looked at him, in the eye. "I care a lot about you. I worry about you. I love you, but certain things have stopped that from blossoming fully lately.

I want to know more of you, see your reaction to  different things, and  I want you to be happy. If that isn't with me, I can make sure that it won't be forced upon you, but on the day that it comes your way, you'll be able to take it."
She spoke simply of the most basic of her wishes. It was no grand declaration of undying love, but it was a start. It also told him exactly how much hiding from her had wounded what was between them.

She peered closely at the tattoo, taking in it's details. Her face contorts in a bit of a snarl at the word that's written there in French. "Une pute stupide. Enfoncer des enfants jouant avec des jouets pour adultes." That look is not playing. It's lucky that the girl responsible wasn't in front of them.

Gentle Kaya seemed to be struggling not to become very seriously pissed off Kaya. She took a breath, centering herself, her eyes closing. When they opened again, her eyes were calm once more. "I'm going to make a cut over that mark. If I know anything about this sort of magick, it's going to hurt. A lot. Scream if you have to, but don't get up, and don't move from this circle."

Yes, a circle had been activated. No signal could get in or out. She'd throughly severed the connection from trasnmitting. Her room was currently a spiritual blackhole. "Are you ready for this, mon amour?"

She nodded her head, leaning forward to press her lips to his forehead. And then she made the cut into his arm. The blade moved through his flesh as if it were a hot knife, and his dermis was butter. the magick of it tingles over his senses.

He realizes that, if it does in fact hurt, it is not the cut itself, but the magick that balked at being severed.

She dripped the blood from the cut into the chalice with a sort of ceremonial gesture. She brought the blade across her own skin with not a flinch, joining her own blood with his. She spoke words in a tongue that sounded entirely foreign, dark, and somehow erotic at the same time.

The blood mixed in the chalice, clouding for just a moment. It looked as if one warred with the other, but soon it began shimmering. The smell of the spice lifted on the air between the.

In the last moments, that slice burned. In fact, it felt like the blood in his body burned. Kaya's skin shimmered, her eyes had turned into glittering aquamarine in her face. "Drink this. You'll be free, and yet bound. But this time, you've chosen your Mistress, as it were. May your fate be your own."

Title: Re: Room 321

He felt that blood wash through him, and it was stunning. It caused a visceral high that felt almost better than sex, or at the very least, it toed that line. It could very well have been liquid ecstacy the way it coated every nerve in his body, and seemed to cloud over every sense of his.

It took whatever he felt for the empath sitting across from him, and seemed to magnify it. The good and the bad of it. It did not make her perfect in his eyes. But it made the good seem brighter, and the bad seem darker. The very definition of a double edged sword.

It could not gift love, if it was not already there. There would always be a fascination for her inside him, for as long as that tether remained. And someone could try and break that tether, but until real love was offered him, and he accepted it knowingly, that cord would go unbroken and untouched.

He had a moment to think, 'This is what it is like to have an immortal's blood run through his veins.' A thought beyond that was unlikely. There's also the thought that her blood could be addictive. But, he had already signed on to become a willing fiend for her.

The explosion of sheer pleasure is not unexpected. Her voice, an ocean call in the waves of that euphoria, spoke to him. "It's sealed with a kiss." He would offer said kiss.

His eyes became dazed an unfocused. It almost was better than sex, because he felt on top of the world. His feelings, good and bad, got stronger, and suddenly, she saw that she wasn't perfect, but that was what made her beautiful. When she mentioned a kiss, he didn't hesitate, kissing her deeply, a deep, loving kiss.

Their leps met, and held. Her blood was on his lips, and she pulled the droplets from it gently. It was a kiss that gave and received equally.

As the magic worked, it simply left a warm and welcome feeling within him. It was not unlike the feeling of coming home after a span of time being gone. The familiarity of it. The very knowledge that you were safe there. He'd at least chosen a caring Mistress. He'd have known, in that moment, if it were otherwise.

She doesn't seem inclined to go anywhere, fully realizing that he needed her at that very moment. The mark on his arm is still there, but the word Forever had been removed. The tribal tattoo looked shattered, though held to form only because of his skin.

If she'd been a different siren, she might have cut that mark from his skin, even knowing it was dead and useless. It marked what was hers. It was a symbol that someone had tried for him. But Kaya either wasn't that sort of person, or simply not so much a siren as all of that.

She couldn't help the spit in the face of the woman who'd marked him. The words now read 'Dans le Sang.' At the bottom of it sat a seal in Greek. It read: Αφροδίτη

She cuddled close, waiting for him to speak, until he was ready. Her blood was a helluva ride.

She looked up at him, raven brow arching gently. "That sounds like the blood talking, mon amour. I should have figured blood would have interesting effects on a spider.." She sounds vaguely amused, but not negatively so. She also doesn't sound worried. "Otherwise, you feel good, though?" She asked.

Sitting up, but not scooting away, as he wouldn't have a good reaction to that, she looked at his eyes. Pupils still dilated, they seemed to only dilate more when she met his gaze. Siren blood, siren bonding, and the teenage hormonal flux. This would be hell for him. A pleasurable one, but hell no less.

Her hands cupped his face gently, and she gave him a light, affectionate kiss. "Good. I'm glad you feel okay. Do you have something in mind that you'd like to do today?" The chalice was empty of blood, and with a swish of her hand, clean of any residual. The dagger, as well, is free of any such thing, laying sparkling against the black velvet. Chalice and athame are taken into her hands, where they both disappear, back from whence they
came.
