As if he knew her doubts and fears, he only ruffled her hair, kissing her forehead. "I don't waste my time by protecting and caring for someone unworthy." He left his words there.
His eyes squinted. "What do I find captivating here in this world? The dreamers. The artists. Not their creations, but the creators themselves. Those who let their minds and imaginations free. No doubt, no hesitation. To watch them look at the world, and see through a different sight. To watch them bring that vision to others. It's extraordinary."
He went quiet for a moment. "For much the same reason, children are delights. But I must be careful. When they no longer believe in imaginary friends, but still see me, it can scare them. But that window of time is short."
